Hi everyone!
I'm happy to see on the official websites that the new servers have finaly been opened, tho, I'm curious of wether it has decreased the waiting times in the queues. I haven't activated my account yet due to the queues I already had with my pre-order key. So if anyone can confirm that the waiting times have drasticaly been drecreased, I'd like to finaly get serious into the game.
Thx in advance.

The problem is that those that were already fairly high or don't want to restart don't want to go on new servers.
Ncsoft needs to implement the server transfer as fast as they can.
I dont think we have achieved balance yet. The devs will be timid with adding new servers until they know what the stabalized population will be. Expect Queues for some time...but I expetc them to lessen a bit

Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
Well, the waiting times aren't over because everyone still wants to be on the most populated server. I think they should have added these servers in the first place at the beginning, I don't think most of us wants to switch to another server and start over again. I wanna stay on siel where my home is.
I just got home from work, 2 hour queue on castor (UK)... ask again in 4 weeks
Doubtful, because most folks like myself have no intention of re-rolling our characters (and I'm only level 8) on a new server because Trinel is where all my frends play.
So I'll stick it out and hope "someone else" decides to move on.
Edit: Ran into a one hour queue last evening, not so bad, but still decided to go play EVE instead.

Havn't had to wait in a queue but one time, 3 days ago when I started!!
Can only speak for Castor EU english server which has been relatively trouble free but since the last two days long queues have been building up with over 2000 players waiting to log in.
It's a nearly two hour wait as we speak!
tbh it's bad only mainly in the early evenings.
Here is the official word from Aion's technical support:
Queue Times and Waiting to Play
The popularity of specific servers has caused queues to be necessary. These queues are based on the given server load. The wait times for our more populated servers will be longer than the wait time for less populated servers. You can use the tracking tools on the Aion website to determine which servers are most populated and which ones will have the longest or shortest wait times in the login queue. Login queues will shorten (and disappear) over the next several days as players spread out across our currently available servers. We are also working on several ways to alleviate the wait time in the queues.
Over the next several days can mean anything.
Until server transfers are allowed the new servers will not make one bit of difference because people will not want to start from the beginning again. If server tranfers will be allowed then you also run the risk of having faction imbalance if there isn't one already because many do not like how the Asmodians look anyway. Lets be honest, this was a poorly managed NA/EU launch. The game works fine thats if you actually get to play. It is just amazing that they can get the Korean and Chinese launches correct with 3 mill between the 2 countries but yet fail with 400k in NA/EU ? It just demonstrates where their priorities are.
Are you sure? If I had to guess, I'd say the Asmo side is the more popular and seems to have the longest queues.

In beta many did not like the fact they had funny looking feet if you believe it or not. Unless people had a change of heart I don't see how it changed any.
If the game gets more popular it will only get worse...servers will be over-subscribed.
They should temporarily close the login for new players on the busiest servers so that existing subscribers don't have to wait hours.
Asmo has been the race, least on the NA side of things, across the board that has been capped time and time again because so many have been trying to choose that faction. The whole lockout thing that started this tirade was partially due to people being locked from choosing the Asmo race. Of course, there was more at play than just that but that was a factor. Just look at the site population numbers if you don't believe me and anyways there's a cap that stops one faction from too far out weighing the other.
As you can tell it has it's drawbacks but on the plus side least you won't have any 30/70 sided servers.
EDIT: Hmmm, interesting just checked them myself and seems they finally, on the NA side of things, have them fairly balanced. Asmo is still up on most by 1% or 2% but it's a lot closer than it was the fist couple days. Nice to see. Not sure that's going to matter to those that were stuck in queues for so long.
I really think for some people that had the misfortune of choosing a super packed server and for the EU folks they should offer some free time but that's just my opinion. Knowing how these businesses treat customer service any more I doubt they will. Hope I'm wrong but sadly I doubt it.

Hrm, I've yet to run into a queue on the Vaziel server at any point during the day...then again, the majority of /3 chat is full of /b/ rejects.
Sadly, you're not alone. The game needs two additional global channels. One for legions to advertise and one for everyone to discuss their bullshit to their hearts' content on a channel I can be sure I never have to visit.

A free server transfer should be given to some people. If they do this there will probably be a lot of happy subs. I am surprised that there are so few ENG servers on the EU side also, since everyone seems to speak it over there. Perhaps new servers will iron out some issues but without a character transfer at this point I doubt many people will start from scratch. Starting your level 10 guy over again is no big deal, but your level 20 guy... that's a much bigger deal, especially if you have managed to get some nice things for them.

Have to wait for people to drop off the old servers for it to help.
And nobody on Lumiel or Zikiel or Spatalos wants to leave it.
I rerolled to the new server. I'm happy there are no transfers because otherwise it would fill up soon.
It's the third time I level a templar from 1 to 18 lol.
So the past few days there has been almost no queue time, very short if there is, so I just tried to login now and there is a 2 hour queue?!? Can someone explain why this would be?
I'll Be Back
There are still ques but they are at most for 10 min tops at the heaviest time of day.
Yes i know, thats's how its been, but right now I am sitting in an 1800 2 hour queue.
I'll Be Back
not quite true it all depends on population --> Lumiel 1730 (1:30 minute wait) at the same time on Marchutan there is no wait at all.
Yes but I was just wondering why on Lumiel, suddenly there's such a long queue. It was only 10-20 mins max over the weekend. And any other time since they fixed it.
I'll Be Back
I think I may know the answer, even though it is admittedly pure speculation.
Last night, Lumiel went down hard and stayed down. Earlier in the evening I had been noticing some stuttering. Not rubberbanding that you get from packet loss, but the kind of stuttering that just seemed like it was server side. I say this because it was an effect I hadn't seen in the game before.
Then I started getting disconnects. Then the server went down and stayed down. That's not exactly accurate. It cycled, rebooting and then crashing all night.
I think it is reasonable to assume that they have severely lowered the population cap of Lumiel until they can diagnose and fix last night's problem. Server queus are bad. Complete server meltdowns that last an entire night are even worse. They obviously chose the lesser of the two evils.
Or it could just be that since the server was down yesterday, everyone is playing today!
