RA3+ XP pack is on sale at D2D for $5 each..is the game any good?
First of all, D2D has never been that nice so I find it hard to believe that it'd be $5 for each.
Now then, Red Alert 3 was another one of those money scandals of EA. It doesn't really have any good RTS value as far as the genre goes. If you really want to play a better RTS within the C&C series, go with C&C Tiberium Wars, at least that's a solid game as far as EA's competence goes.
"IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one."
From what I had read when it launched was that it was good, and better the generals was. I was tempted to get RA3 but after how bad generals was I doubt I can ever play the series again. Just my opinion of course though.

To OP: At first couldn't stand the game, bit to cartoonish(bought on release) gave it another shot months later cause a few friends of mine where playing online and there is where it's strenghts lies, not so much in the singleplayer campains, but they can be helpfull in introducing you to the game before going online.
Overall I like the C&C series allot more then the RA series.
Comments
I was told it was fun But I have not played it my self.
I hated it. I really did, it's too much mission style and not enough sandbox.
It's not on sale for $5, it's for $44.95. And it wasn't that good of a game, Red Alert 1 was still the best.

Red Alert 3 is a solid multiplayer game is you can handle the art direction. Don't know nor care about the single player.
