Actually I did. I found out that it was being created a while back from Yahoo.

The Chronicles of Narnia are one of the best series of books I've ever read; and it's truthfully safe to say, that I wouldn't be afraid to unleash an ass-whoopin if they screw these movies up.

I have the whole series of Narnia, and "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" was my favourite books out of the series.

I just hope they don't go all corny and aim the movie towards 7 year olds.

Speaking of trailers, you should watch the "Sky Blue" trailer. There's a movie i've been anticipating recently ::::28::.

from looking at the clip, it looks like it'll be decent.

Well, originally they were children books I think, so one might expect as much. However, the little preview I saw gave me the impression that they're trying to refine things (make things work well or look good on screen). When I started reading the series, they were good books and I didn't really see how someone could make a good movie out of them and keep their original content. Afterall, there were fauns (satyrs) fighting trees... image Anyway, yeh.. I hope they'll work in some of that movie magic into the story so as to allow more people to take it seriously. I know that they took away Bombadil in The Lord of the Rings probably because they didn't really see where it would fit with the rest of the overall mood of the story if you know what I mean.

From the Chronicles of Narnia; it just can't be decent. It must be Epic.

I also hope they don't distort the storyline. Similar to what happend in LoTR. I was dissapointed with all the changes they made in it, worse of all the removing of the scourging of the shire. It could of deviated from the book even more; which is what worries me about the possible deviation of The Chronicles of Narnia movies.

Let's all hope the movies turn out Epic...Because the story deserves no less.

Havent watched the trailer yet, or read any of the books (Narnia that is), but I think I was most disapointed by the LoTR movies when the elves randomly showed up at Helms Deep.

You do know they already have multiple types of Videos out for the Narnia series....right??There is this one set that did the series really well, part live action and part computer generated. I can't remember who is was done by,but I always loved how it was done. It was really good and stayed true to the series really well. If I find out where it is,I'll post it here. Also,it showed up on Channel 9(public TV) for a while a few years ago.

mmm... nope... Never thought of it truthfully, but it does make sense. Same thing happened with LoTR afterall.

I fully agree! And you said it BEST!!! image

That part was simply left out. And it was not a main componet to the books. The only intresting part of it IMHO was when Gandalf, the Tree Elf Queen, and Elrond, all get together and have a little "Vulcan" mind meld. Sharing thoughts about ancient times, through telepethy.

The LotR movies had to leave out many parts or else each movie would be 8 hours long.

     - The part where the Orcs rip apart the tree Elves when they rescue Smeagal from the cage the tree Elves kept him in, after Gandalf captured Smeagle and entrusted the Tree Elves to guard him.

     - The entire meeting in the Tree Elf city. We get an idea of how old Strider/Aragorn really is. He is at least 200 - 500 years old. The Tree Elf Queen is a good 1,000+ years old. The entire Tree Elf city in the MMORPG EverQuest is an exact replica of the Tree Elf city in the Lord of the Rings books.

Those are the two other huge parts left out in the movies. Now where the LotR movies butchered the books was at 2 other parts:

     1. In the movies it shows Elves coming to Helms Deep to help the Humans. That never ever happened. In the books the Humans grew a backbone, and use a bit of human-only magic (from the horn to make the darkness go away), and drove the Orcs back. Plus Aragorn attempted to parlay aka talk with the wildmen who were fighting with the enemy. ALSO in the books the Evil Ents come to help after the humans drive the orcs back. It was Treebeard the good Ent who called the Evil Ents for help.

Let's all hope the movies turn out Epic...Because the story deserves no less.

I almost forgot to reply to this part. Yeah the Narnia movies need to be epic. Because the books were epic. Plus Lewis was a close friend of Tolkien. In many ways Lewis directly influenced how Tolkien wrote LotR, and formed the world of Middle Earth. (read the Silmarillian for more details. Tolkien went from disbelieving in a god, or God, to deciding God made Middle Earth. Tolkien basically 100% ripped off the Bible when he penned the very beginnings of Middle Earth. The first badguy in ME was a master music maker. He was the best at everything, which pumped up his ego and led to his undoing. In Satan's biography (which is in the Bible) he was a master music maker. He was the best at everything he did which pumped up his ego and led to his undoing.

It would be horrible if Hollywood after going through the big effort it put behind LotR.... then puts little effort behind Narnia. image

I could be wrong. I don't remember where I read it. But I believe in Tolkiens mind, the scourging, for whatever reason, was a big part.

True...Damn shame they didn't make it six parts.

I had the same impression of strider. But he died at the old age of I believe 240 something. During LoTR I believe he was around 95 or so.

Ok about the age of Aragorn... it first age given for him is 12 when his name is estel... then when he turns 20 Elrond tells him his true name and heritige then and  he meats arwen then he leaves and is in middle-earth and he meets gandalf and labors against Saraun (not sure what he was doin) it says neerly 30 years... then it says he is 49... so i guess its 29 years he was out... so at 49 he is lothlorien... then the next thing it says about age is he was happily married to Arwen for 6 score(120) years...  so... so.. he 49 is last mention of his age before he marries Arwen and after he marries arwen he lives for 120 more years... so he could have died at 169... unless that 240 is true... tho i am not sure where u got that from its not in the appendix... if he did die at 240 then he was about 115 and im not sure about that... i think its more of 73 during the books so i think he died at around 193.... but that is just speculation because it doesn't relaly give much else....

OH and i love your lil.... thing under your avatar, finwe. SO TRUE LOL also your signiture rocks!

Right. I'm not sure either. I haven't really delved much into the appendixes. But a group of people that can probably give you the meaning and origin of every name in LoTR...You can't really argue with them.
