Just a couple of corrections here... Make A Wish does not save lives, it gives wishes to the terminally ill. Blizard DOES beleive in unfair combat. Thier game is full of it. But, that is not their fault. Completely fair, completely balanced combat will never happen. However, they will more than likely not sell things that give you an edge in the game, that is true. Next... Yes, they make enough money off of WoW to WAY more than support it. They make billions, no joke. However, the amount they make means nothing. They are a business, and they want to make as much as possible. Every business always wants more. To say they need the money is laughable though.

They make more than 500k a year, first off. And I never said they made billions each year, did I? After all their operating expenses, they pocket a large chunk of cash in profit. It is printed very publicly in their quarterly reviews as they are a publicly traded business.

Most of their GM support is outsourced, so VERY cheap. The little that is not outsourced is still staffed by minimum wage, no benefits people. And server expenses are not nearly what you are assuming, I am sure. I would be SHOCKED if their operating expenses even hit 100 million dollars a year. SHOCKED.

First off, Blizzard is not a country. And yes, they do outsource, or they hire people that have only basic english skills. Every time I contact GMs ingame, they are terrible in english, and the two times I needed to call in, I got Indians. I have no idea what you are talking about. Also, being that I played the US version of WoW from Europe, you are could not be more off base, and you just continue to prove that you have no idea what you are talking about.

And big deal, you can chose tons of languages. It is not a mom and pop shop. They only need a handful of people, which speak a langauge or two each. That is why you wait so damn long to talk to one. And no, they don't pay all that well. Unless you consider below 25k a year good pay.

  • BloodaxesBloodaxes Member EpicPosts: 4,662

Ok let;s do a simple calculation

A P2P game with 300k subscribers is gaining profit wow has more servers so let's say 500-1k subscribers is enough to gain profit.

Now tell me how many subscribers has wow, 6+ millions do you see their profit?

I state in advance that I' m not a WoW fan & I don't like WoW specially, but think it has stablished a standard and is a pretty good game. I play EVE, but I have discerniment to see what is good and bad, and WoW is very good in its style.

Blizzard RMT is not for bashing it. It's for a good cause and it honours the company and the customers who contribute to it.

Real RMT is when you are forced to pay to buy necessary things in order to be equal to other players, and have extra exp and pots and so on...

Here we are talking in a very different matter. Blizzard is outstanding in many aspects, like this one.

It is a question of fangs.

  • YauchyYauchy Member UncommonPosts: 298

     I got the pet because:

    1) I like the fact money went to make a wish

    2) My in game name is Pandaren

5 more dollars to the hundreds blizzards has taken from me in the last 5 years is just a drop in the bucket...lol.  QQ more about people playing 25$ for a change of their race than, 5$ for kids and 5$ for the money loving developer :P

Blizzard isn't providing the money for the donation...the players that purchase the pets are the one funding it.  Blizzard is just passing along a portion of the fee.

You are a joke... you know that? I have called Blizzard quite a few times about billing/hacked account and everytime i got a american they have a support building where i live I drive by it to work before i moved =] My little liar but more to the point i moved to Japan for a school program for 2 years... Where i am at currently and when i called Blizzards support she advised me that i was calling from out of the USA and charges would be added to my bill explain that you are so easy to bash realy and honestly funny realy

and can you do basic math if they had 10million subs 14.99 they would be making alittle over 100million a month... spending almost all of that on support and paychecks

have you put 5 dollars in that charity your entire life? blizzard is bringing them a way to give someone incintive to do somthing thats right anyway

Blizzard is not makeing a charitable donation the ppl useing the store are, but Blizzard is more then willing

    to take 50% of it...

Just make a true donation to Make a wish and cut the greedy middle man out who cares if they give you

some cheezy pet that does nothing but get in the way.

Assassin's like to do it in the dark and from behind.

Plus box sales. Plus server transfers. Plus name changes. Plus race changes. Plus faction changes. Plus plus plus.

What is this about you calling from Japan, and getting extra charges? I don't even know what you are talking about, it is like you are rambling. I live in Europe. I play US WoW just fine, as do thousands of others. There is no IP blocking as you said. You have no credibility. And just because they have a support building, does not mean that they do not still outsource thier jobs. Just because you called in a couple times and got an American each time does not mean crap.

    Good lord...
