This whole section, from FFVIII the ending. Call me a softy but I even like the romantic song at the beginning. Main reason I liked the game was the romantic aspect.
The orchestra in the later parts really blows me away. I LOVE this piece.
Other games that have blown me away with music:
World of Warcraft Lord of the rings online EQ2 FFXI and all other FF games(FF 8 especially) Age of Conan Warhammer - limited as the music is, their are some awesome tunes, especially the dwarf race The Zelda music(the orchestra version is the best) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Kingdom Hearts games Dragon Warrior main theme(orchestra version) and a plethora of others I can't think of right now

One of my favorite in-game songs I ever heard was the "Tom Bombadil's House" theme in LOTRO. I used to log my toon out in his house so I could log in and immediately hear it each time.
Though the Might and Magic series had some great tunes as well, and of course Diablo 1.
Man, I love Settlers 1. I played it back in 93 with my sister often in split-screen mode. Good memories. ^^ And the comments on the video are right: from todays viewpoint the game was incredibly slow paced, but still in matters of fun it was topnotch.

I really like some tunes in Eq2 and Aion, but AoC has alot of quality music, too.
The most memorable song in a game was but a certain tune played in Teldrassil, WoW. UNfortunately I'm at a pc without speakers now, so i can't dig it out on youtube.

A viking-metal band picked up the tune. ^^ It's not really metal like, but turned out nicely. www.youtube.com/watch
AoC Cimmerian songs are among the best with that singer (Loreena McKennit? not sure about the name), just as some Final Fantasy tunes. Too lazy to add links at the moment.

I think the music in LoTRO is really good. Also loved the music for Shadowbane. Especially the music around Khar.
I don't know whether it has been mentioned before, but the music in Saga of Ryzom has to be the best I've heard in any game, MMO or otherwise

Guild Wars and Age of Conan had the best music for me.
The best song imo was

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
STILL ALIVE
He who keeps his cool best wins.
Jet Set Radio Future has some really good songs. Kinda like funky techno rock music.

I am so good, I backstabbed your face!
You are my hero, thanks.
You're quite welcome.
Video game music is so much better creatively than the music I hear these days that I can't turn it off while playing like some gamers.
That is considering the resources they had/have.
(Only classical seems to give me a secondary entertainment)
That Jade Empire theme still chokes me into tears when I really listen.
Perhaps I think too deep on it though.
@Elocke
(Elocke if you're still reading and haven't figured linking I'm using the WYSIWYG Editor and not the "safe bet for browsers" BBML editor)
First highlight the text you want to put a link into with your mouse.
Then up top on the second row going in left to right there's a chain on a small globe symbol called "insert/edit link" next to the "block justify".
So hit that.
A box titled "Link" will show up.
Paste the link you want into the URL line.
You've made a link.

Not a MMO, but I really liked the opening theme(when you load game, and during game) of Mass Effect 1.
Of any song played during a game(MMO or other), it is hands down Star Wars. The theme for ESB.
