I just hate them. Even their voices in the voice over drive me nuts. Why couldn't they add a cool race like Satyr or Centaur (okay that might be a little much) not frogs.

might be a bit off topic but i think EQ added frogloks instead of centaurs and satyr because well no one has seen them before i meen we have all seen satyrs and centaurs in games before.
ok, well, how about they finaly make evalved gnolls, casue they got evalved froglocks, and evalved kerra, and well, rats, but not gnolls, lol, that would be great, you get a vah shier chasing a rtantonga, and a gnol chasing th va shier, lol,
Where have you seen a Centaur as a PC race? That might be a cool game. There are thousands of other races they could have picked from: Dark Dwarves (have Dark Elves why not?), Werewolves (have rats and cats), Demon (Fiend), Angel (Celestial), I mean the possibilites are endless, yet they chose a frog.

dark dwarves: come on, i mean, you don't really need a dark dwarf, if you want to be an evil dwarf, be a dwarf and do betrayle, there you're a dark dwarf
werewolves: a human that turns into a wolf like creature at night, would be too hard for any game to do since you would be changing form every hour, and it wouldn't make sense to just start as a werewolf
demon: something from another plane of exsistance, never really used in Everquest at all with the exception of only one or two planes, would be completly redicoulous to work a demon into the lore
angle: someone has died and was good and ya da ya da ya da ya, again, never in Everqeust, would be a horirble outcome to work it into lore
froglok: the froglok empire in Eq1 before release of legacy of yekhsa ruled over upper and lower Guk. They lived in the swamps, and their main enemy was the trolls. If you follow the lore the frogloks were the crusaders of Mithaniel Marr, and he had blessed them with the abilities of other, more advanced races, thus allowing them to overcome the Troll defenses at the city of Gukta, thus winning and turning it into: Gupta, Outpost of Marr. Thus becoming a major race in the political and military format of Norrath.
Frogloks were already in Eq1 before they became a playable race, they played a rather major part. Being slaves to the Iksar on Kunarck (even though i was a frog, the frogs there still seemed to hate me), and again, they ruled over Guk. This made it easy to work it into lore and made it reasonable to make them become a major race. This rolls together much better than putting say an angle (now i think that idea is horrible, and calling frogs a horrible idea is pure hypocritisism)
Riiight, you have a choice you could be a Celestial or a Frog, which would you choose? Oh please sir make me a frog...
Then there is the fact, why does a celestial have to be a good dead person? A demon comes from a different realm so why can't Celestials (and not to turn this into a religous debate but for the record even in the bible, dead humans don't become Angels, God created them as well as humans)? Werewolves wouldn't be that hard to do, they already have shapechanging in the game, but that's not really what I'm talking about. Kera are Were-Cats and Rotogna are Were-Rats, half human half animal.
The point is there is an unlimited possiblity of races, yet they choose frogs... Then again, I'm trying to convince a guy that would rather be a frog than an Angel.

closest thing to werewolf would be a kobold, and those aren't organized enough to be a major race
and it would be completly retarded to add in an angle considering that they have never been seen before in the game, Kerra were already there, Ratonga were already there (disagree?, go to Eq1 and check the zone called ruins of old painell, make sure to go down deep enough)
again, an angle would be a completly stupid idea, you would fly, you would be overpowered compared to other races, it wouldn't be completely retarded to start on the ilse of refuge, have a full suit of golden armor, a flamming sword, and wings; retarded
there have not been a single angle in any everquest game, so it would be completly retarded to just say: hey look, angles feel out the sky, and now they live in qeynos instead of living in heaven; retarded. This game is not a gam of angles and demons, its a medival fantasy style, not some christian fundamentalist game
its not in game, and i thank SOE greatly for that, and i don't see anyone besides for you calling angles and demons such a "grand" idea
Okay first it is angEL, angle is what a triangle has 3 of.
Second why are you fixated on Angel's? You have a bunch pre-concieved notions about Celestials, that don't have to the way things are. Have you ever played D&D? Look in the monster manual for more options than just a flaming sword and wings. Not only that, but there is a precedence for this if you read the history: The reason the gods are thought to have left after the shattering, is because people invaded thier home and attacked the avatars of the gods themselves. A perfect opening for something like this.
Third and most importantly: There is literally an unlimited potential for different races, look at Horizons, they've added Dryads and Dragons, as well as Saytr, and fiends. WoW has Orcs and Minatour as playable races, and AC2 made up thier own races. I'm not saying add dragons but come on, Frogs?? This is the best they could come up with?

Well frogs were in the first, they had to add them, and instead of Satyr or Centaur you got rats as the new race they added.

but as i said before, there were no angle in the planes, just minons of the gods. None had wings, none could really think on their own. Remeber the guards in PoJ? Basically mindless minions with black caps and hammers. Not race material. So you don't like frogs, there are plenty of other races. All because you "think", its a good idea, doesn't mean it is. So they put in frogs, do you think that you saying, "oh D&D had it, if Eq2 doesn't have it, they are idiots", make it a good idea, or mean that they will follow what you say? have to say no on that. I played a frog, they are a very good race, definently not developed as high elves or erudites, but they currently own 3 zones in Eq1: Upper Guk, Lower Guk, and Gupta.
Anyway, if the gods left their planes, why exactly would the angles (again, no angles in Eq), come to Norrath, all the planes went off-line, and the knowledge books stopped working. Anyway, all the minons would have either been deactivated by the gods, or go with them to were ever they went. So no, it would not be perfect to put them in, because THERE WERE NO ANGLES!!!!! And a celestial would just be a blatently stupid idea, you have: human, dwarf, elves, Celestial; sure sounds stupid to me. Anyway, Frogloks in Eq1, and many people played them, so they put them in Eq2; brilliant! Brilliant!
<edit> please tell me how its un-original, and by you not liking it, means that its a stupid idea? Because i think the thousands of people who played the race would have to disagree.
First don't put words in my mouth. I think having a race based on frogs is totally retarted. That is my opinion I'm entitled to it. You obvioulsy have no imagination if you can't figure out how to get celestials into a game like Everquest. I can tell I'm wasting my time talking to you becasue I was using examples that just because someone says angEL or celestial doesn't mean they are talking about a Winged human looking thing with a flaming sword, but I guess we've already established your lack of imagination.
I never said because it's in D&D it should be in EQ. The only reason I brought it up was to give you examples of angEL's that don't have wings.
I never said it was un-original (the High Elves, wood elves, Dwarfs, Halflings, Gnomes, Kerra, Ogers, Trolls, Iksar, Ratogna, and Dark Elves those were the un-original races), and in my opinion it is was a stupid idea, that's how it was a stupid idea. I wonder how many "thousands" actually played a frog without it being some sort of joke.

I would like to know how: Kerra, Iksar, Ratonga, Froglok, ect are unoriginal? I knew alot of people who played Eq1 and were frogs, they made some of the best pallies, and decent healers (shamans and clerics), and then their swimming was WAY above everyone elses. They weren't just frogs, SUPER frogs.
celestials.....again, its unoriginal, if i want to hear about god's little celestials i'll read the bible. As i have said many times before, tehre we NO celestials in ANY everquest game. They were all just minons of their corresponding gods. Nothing that would resemble a celestial in ANY way. It would again be stupid to have: Human, Elves, Dwarf, Iksar, Rantonga, Kerra, and then have a race who live in another plane of exsistance and are higher beings and watch over everything. Because, that is what celestials are.
Come back when you have an orginal idea. (and one that isn't full of flaws)
Oh, and by putting celestials you know that all the little kids would play them because their "angles", and then they would just rant on like, "I am ubah angle, i pwn you mortals", stuff like that. It would purely suck.
Its not in game, so obviously the developers considers it a stupid idea, enough said.
