The EVE trial has been nerfed heavily since the last few patches/expansion. There's not much else to do other than play the tutorial missions.
Might not be a wise choice for a team-based group such as yourselves.
Why are there so many cutesie, fantasy, childish MMO's. Give me blood, gore and a long lasting challenge. I don't need my hand being held along the way. Thanks.
I've heard good things about EQ2, but I've not tried it myself.. I can't get the trial to work, I keep getting some error I can't fix.
Games I have played.
WoW - Played it for three years, so I find it very boring now + with all the endgame raiding and the immature community it's not really worth playing.
Lotro - Played it for a couple of months, it's a very good game, but You need a friendly bunch o' people to play with, else it get's a quite boring.
AoC - The world is pretty instanced, starting area is very boring. The game has good graphics but I couldn't really find any story in the game so I found the game pretty boring.
WAR -... No good comments here. Not worth playing.
I guess Lotro would be a good game for a bunch o' people looking for a game they can play together.
PS: Just joined the forum.. I'm named Ezehiels. Couldn't create a user called Ezehiel.. Seems some guy already took it.
Just joined the new forums! Hooray. Looking forward to seeing you guys on there.
I'm really for any of the games, I've played most of them, but never past their initial trials (or a few months) mainly because it's hard to get a good group of people. Banding together before the game is such a great idea. I still think that Vanguard of EVE might be a good idea, although EVE could be tough, especially if we were to get WarDec'd early on, could really mess some things up (unless we could get some old-timers to help protect our frigates). Vanguard seems like it'd be a great idea too, with the rift system we could get to each other quickly, and with the trial isle we'd all start in the same area. Plus I just like that game.
I've been following this thread for a few days now, and I find it interesting on what you're all trying to do. In fact, I was just discussing with a friend of mine about the lack of community in games over the last few years. The both of us MMO hop like crazy, trying to find the right game, but we always end up back playing WoW (mainly due to our guild). So mainly due to this whole thing y'all are doing, I'm all for bringing some community back into these MMOs we all play. Whichever game it is, I'm all for it!
My top 5 I'd like to play through:
1. LotRO
2. EQ2
3. Vanguard (maybe?)
4.Ryzom
5. DaoC
btw, I also registered on the guild portal site as well, under the same name.

I know that active subscribers can give out 21day trials, ot sure if they are nerfed too? I wonder why they nerfed the trial, it seemed to work so well, and I thought the trial was good, because I was not very limited, although there was plenty of skills I couldn't train I could go wherever I wanted and play with my rl friends if I wanted too.
I like the idea and would like to join up as well! I would have to vote for EQ2 and FFXI as my tops, Eve might not be so bad either, though the learning curve is a bit steep.

I'll be slowly dropping watch on this thread, mostly checking if there are no trolling to be done. WE're moving on to the forums.
I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.
hey guys. I know im kinda late. but Can I join you guys still? I would love to have a big group of players to play with a in a brand new game. Where is the new forum? (if i can get in). really excited to join u guys. would be sooooo fun. is VG still an option? I always wanted to try it.

I'm in. I actually own all the games listed here. >.< I've just never had the chance to find a decent group of people to play with. I'm most certainly interested though.

Yep. Consider discussion here at an end! Please head over to our forums. All information is on the first post. I'll probably drop by and bump this now and then so we can reach out to as many people as possible.
At this point wouldn't a topic in the LFGame section be better? Anyone want to go and make a new post there to direct people who are looking for a new game to a big community of new players?

I would be interested in joining in on this. I miss those old days in DAoC where we would group and just camp a spot, and there was just as much goofing around as there was killing mobs. What I loved about DAoC PvE in the early days, was it wasnt that hard, just a little time consuming. So you could just sit in an area with some friends and goof off while playing, as long as you didnt go completely afk you werent really in danger of wiping.
I have heard that FFXI sorta brings that mentality back, but with the whole play online thing back in the day I just couldnt get into it, so if you guys hit that game I would like to join.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
This sounds like a pretty awesome idea, and one that I would love to jump in on. Unfortunately, I'm currently working on school projects that will have me occupied until later this month, and then Christmas is going to happen, so I really won't be available until January. Is there any way other can support the guild effort, even if they can't play?

It really is an attractive idea. I will do what I can to help it succeed.
I might be interested in this idea as well. It really depends on the game though...
There are some games I have tried (and failed) to get into so many times in the past that I doubt I would be able to even with a group.
