So i login to my game of choice yesterday morning to pick up where i have left off with my crafting to a screen tellin me my account is unable to login. So i then check my account to see if there is something up with billing, and to my surprise i see in big red caps BANNED..... So i checked my emails. Not 1 email from NCSoft to explain why this has happend. I had to call them wait on hold for 45 mins just for the lady on the phone to tell me she has no control and cant tell me why i was banned only that i was banned, and that she will put an email in for me for the GMs to tell me why.
I wait 30 hours and receive an email that i was banned for using 3rd party software.... This is complete and utter BS. I have not used any bot software in this game. I am a very active person in the game ALWAYS talk and very well known in my ranger chat. I also have 1.2k+ pvp kills with 40k+ ap. Im very fed up with the whole way this is being handled and how im being told that my account will not be reactivated. I sent an email back explaining this. But i highly doubt a GM will contact any in game or in ranger chat to see that everytime im ingame im fcking talking. Sorry for the rant but i had to vent as alot of time/money went into this account ($60 CE + 3 months play time) all down the drain because a few people at NCSoft got ban happy. I will completely boycott NCSoft if my account is not reactivated as i am a longtime NCSoft game player. (Lineage Lineage2 GW Exteel and now Aion)

I take all improper banning complaints with a hefty serving of salt in general and this complaint is no exception, but the lack of communication that your account was banned is disconcerting. No matter if the ban was valid or not it is their responsibility to inform their customer that they have taken an action against you. If they are going to claim a TOS violation then they need to state it outright and stand behind the decision.
This is pretty much SOP for NCsoft. They let the bots run wild for months and months, and then after endless player complaints(and the potential of declining subs) they start wildly swinging the ban hammer around. Its no surprise that some innocent people get caught in the back splash. Then in typical NCsoft fashion, they give out cut and paste responses(if they bother to respond at all). The sheer arrogance of their perspective has always amused and amazed me. Even Blizzard isn't nearly that bad, and they make a LOT more money than NCsoft ever will. To the OP, I'm sorry to hear about your plight guy, but unless you happen to be one of the VERY lucky few, your account is gone for good. Sadly, the only real recourse you have is to find another game.

I am not sure who is worse the developer or the OP.After being treated like this,the OP would greet them back with open arms,just because he is worried about a virtual player,very sad.
I have been saying for a long time what a garbage developer NCSOFT is,people do not get it,they are either dumb or blind.
I already pointed out how 50k bans are mathematically impossible during the time frame,they either have to do an incomplete investigation or they are outright lying about the numbers.Either situation points to a VERY shotty developer that should NOT be trusted.

Oh man. I feel for you. Like I'm not kidding I JUST made a thread about this. The EXACT same thing happened to me. I'm glad NCsoft is taking care of this "bot" problem but seriously they have to get their shit straight. If they're banning innocent people then they have a problem.

There are very few people banned that didn't do something wrong and NCSoft isn't going to give out details about how they detected the individual since that will just help the botters and RMTers to adjust their programs to avoid detection in the future.
In this case it is highly doubtful that the OP is anything but a botter/RMTer caught and now trying to get his little money maker back online.
Interesting. First people say that NCSoft won't do anything about the botters and now they say either they are banning innocent people or that banning 50k accounts is impossible. Interesting when Eve or WoW annouces that they have banned thousands of accounts no one seems to bat an eye.
Detecting people that do the same thing over and over for days is pretty easy to automate. Is it possible that an automated system will catch someone innocent? Sure, if you can sit at a keyboard hitting the exact same key sequence for hours and hours and hours. And if that is how you are playing the game you should be banned just to protect your mental health.
The problem for innocent people will be that the guilty will also claim to be innocent and unless there is a pretty obvious mistake made in the detection phase it won't be possible to tell the liars from the innocent.
And the game is noticeably reduced in bots and kinah vendors so personally I think that NCSoft has taken a major step in the right direction.

i got banned from AION for nothing as well. When i took it to the CS and GM's they told me 3rd party apps (which i was not using) and said i was banned and would not be reactivated. When i pressed further they locked me out of the Customer support system entirely. I'm done with NCSoft forever, won't look at any new game or GW2.

This is pretty much SOP for NCsoft. They let the bots run wild for months and months, and then after endless player complaints(and the potential of declining subs) they start wildly swinging the ban hammer around. Its no surprise that some innocent people get caught in the back splash. Then in typical NCsoft fashion, they give out cut and paste responses(if they bother to respond at all). The sheer arrogance of their perspective has always amused and amazed me. Even Blizzard isn't nearly that bad, and they make a LOT more money than NCsoft ever will. To the OP, I'm sorry to hear about your plight guy, but unless you happen to be one of the VERY lucky few, your account is gone for good. Sadly, the only real recourse you have is to find another game.

And you *KNOW* they are guilty, how? Given NCsofts past history, its not at all surprising that their MUCH belated wild swings of the ban hammer, might hit some innocent people. Unless you are the same type of person who believes what ever government tells you, I'd hold such actions by the likes of NCsoft suspect until proven other wise.
I am not sure who is worse the developer or the OP.After being treated like this,the OP would greet them back with open arms,just because he is worried about a virtual player,very sad.
I have been saying for a long time what a garbage developer NCSOFT is,people do not get it,they are either dumb or blind.
I already pointed out how 50k bans are mathematically impossible during the time frame,they either have to do an incomplete investigation or they are outright lying about the numbers.Either situation points to a VERY shotty developer that should NOT be trusted.
I would rather watch a Toronto Raptors game re run than support NCSOFT.

Oh man. I feel for you. Like I'm not kidding I JUST made a thread about this. The EXACT same thing happened to me. I'm glad NCsoft is taking care of this "bot" problem but seriously they have to get their shit straight. If they're banning innocent people then they have a problem.

There are very few people banned that didn't do something wrong and NCSoft isn't going to give out details about how they detected the individual since that will just help the botters and RMTers to adjust their programs to avoid detection in the future.
In this case it is highly doubtful that the OP is anything but a botter/RMTer caught and now trying to get his little money maker back online.

Interesting. First people say that NCSoft won't do anything about the botters and now they say either they are banning innocent people or that banning 50k accounts is impossible. Interesting when Eve or WoW annouces that they have banned thousands of accounts no one seems to bat an eye.
Detecting people that do the same thing over and over for days is pretty easy to automate. Is it possible that an automated system will catch someone innocent? Sure, if you can sit at a keyboard hitting the exact same key sequence for hours and hours and hours. And if that is how you are playing the game you should be banned just to protect your mental health.
The problem for innocent people will be that the guilty will also claim to be innocent and unless there is a pretty obvious mistake made in the detection phase it won't be possible to tell the liars from the innocent.
And the game is noticeably reduced in bots and kinah vendors so personally I think that NCSoft has taken a major step in the right direction.

Yup you caught me wait? If i was buying bots and RMTing wouldnt that be costing me money? Hrmm its ok the circle goes in the square hole for you. Keep trying you ll get it in there one day. Also really dont think a REAL botter/RMTer would really care if they got banned and i highly doubt they would call NCSoft. They would just take another stolen CC and continue on their way makin a new character. Use your logic before you speak. Also if im a botter did i set up a computer program to talk for me while in vent? How about to hold a conversation in Region chat or Class chat? I must be an awesome script writer to be able to make a bot that can hold a conversation with someone.
