    Edit:

Someone pointed out that "The Sun" in England isn't the same "The Sun" in the US.

Almost reminds me of a luminous tornado.. I dont know why but I seem to remember seeing reports of similar events elsewhere in the 1980's. They never did figure out what they were I think.

Very interesting does make you wonder does it not?

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

    About what?

  • TechleoTechleo Member Posts: 1,984

What it is would be the logical question to assume... Mind you I suspect its something rather benign at beast. The theory its a rocket failure seems plausible enough. That would even account for earlier sightings.

    For what it's worth...

I used to live 20 min from cape in florida...saw dozens of rockets and missles fly day and night..

never ONCE did anything resemble this...even the errant missles. though i can't rule that theory out

    couple observations:

the contrail is BLUE, what gas / propellant glows blue? (a new kind of fuel? plasma? ???)

the outward spiral appears to be VERY broad....i.e. it has to be a heavy particulate....BUT....gravity appears to be having no effect on that...

example... a large firework explosion even takes on a form that is due to gravity....this spiral appears perfectly symetrical...as if gravity is having no impact on it.

    i find it VERY fascinating!

    hoping to see more!

The aliens should be careful where they land.  They could run into one of the members from this Norwegian band and never make it back home....

Thats not an Alien Portal.  Its the US testing a new long range rifle.  We aimed it at Russia on purpose.

Hehe,  turns out it's a failed ucbm testing,  fitting ucbm,  80's and doomsday are all piled into one topic.

Throw in some Ronald Reagan,  some yuppies and we could have ourselves one hell of a flash back.

Well at first it was a russian missile. But the Russians dinied it. Then the Russians changed their minds and decided they were out testing that day.

Me personally am not convinced it was some kinda missile malfuncion. Just watching the video and all, how does a missile make such a nice swirly thingy in the middle of the sky? Perhaps rather than blowing up the enemies, it is meant to hypnotize them?

The Russian navy had a fault on a missile they tested. The missile's rudder (or whatever they use to steer it), broke, and the missile started to spin.
