I'm pretty sure the controversy had nothing to do with the quality of the game. People no matter how much they wanted to boycott L4D2 knows Valve makes good games.
I dunno it's just more of the same to me and I got bored of L4D a few days after launch cause once you've gone through it then theres no point playing it again. Played 2 campaigns of L4D2 and just not having fun : The game just gets old fast and it's a shame cause I love zombie games but just not L4D2.
It needs a single player like HL and competitive play like CS with zombies or sumthing
I thought the melee weapons added a much needed alternative to the game. They also added a much wider variety of weapons, which is awesome as well. Cant forget they added a TON of witches too, along with other baddies.
I am not a huge fan of how the melee weapons can one hit a lot of ememies though, it makes taking on a horde almost really, really, simple. Mind you, I was playing on normal difficulty, so the one hit may change later. Also, I dont really see the point of the new ammo. It seems also like a waste of space to me.
That being said, they can go ahead and boycott Left for dead 2 as much as they want, the game is a pretty big hit, and im sure the buisness of something like 200 individuals is not a huge deal (+ or - the 50 or so that give in and buy it anyway)
Feel free to check them out. They have downloads to original videogame music. I'm also considering buying L4D2, but none of my mates have so I'm rather up in the air about it.
LineageII | LoTRO | RFO | 9Dragons | Aion | Perfect World | Ether Saga | Dungeon Runners | GuildWars 1 and 2 | Hellgate London | tCoS | Warhammer | AoC | Tabula Rasa | SWTOR youtube.com/gcidogmeat
I liked how the melee weapons added more variety to the combat, and the new special infected pretty much solve the constant camping in the first game plus other problems. And the campaigns are pretty intense and harder than before. Thumbs up.
Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis of Valve's Left 4 Dead are going to cross paths with the new survivors of Left 4 Dead 2 - Coach, Ellis, Nick and Rochelle - in an upcoming DLC add-on arriving this spring for the Xbox and PC.
"The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign," says Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry."
Playing - FFXIV, ESO Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW
Have any of you played Killing Floor? I think it's a better zombie killing game than L4D. Sort of similar but different.
I was playing Killing floor for a few months before L4D2 came out. I did get L4D2... but I'm regretting buying it. It quickly got boring, and I've gone back to playing killing floor.
Killing floor is a far more enjoyable game experience IMO, especially per it's cost.

This system, matchmarking, is atrocious. I tried the demo, and quicliy uninstalling it. Unplayable. Also the weapons feel WRONG.

The DLC is going to be great.
