EQ2 sucks which sux because i was such a huge EQ1 fan.

WOW is a fairly decent game overall but has been put way to much onto easy mode as if it wasnt before

WAR definately has the best PVP and some of the changes they made to it has really made it even better. but PVE in the game is horrid and a waste of time.

On the flip side you have titles like Aion righ tnow that beat all 3 of the above hands down. Only problem is it is kind of what some people would call a grindy game.

I honesty would say either go with Aion or Age of Conan i know they werent on your list. but thats my choice

Eq2 if you want a deep intersting game, WoW if you want a game thats pretty much a single player game, and then at the end its a boring carrot on a stick run thru raid after raid and is also fairly shallow. War.. just sucked. I still have a unused retail cd-key because the game sucked so bad in early access.

But doesn't DDO's PvP = fail? Like you go to 1 room and brawl or you duel? That's it?

Well, I hate to tell you this, but EQ2's pvp is fail, and the entire game of WAR is fail.

WoW, ok, a lot of people like it, but I just find it far too hard to play when someone who has been playing for 4 years comes up and 1 shots you. Of course, the BGs are a good distraction before you get 80. However, at 80 PvP is hugely in favor of those who've been playing 2-5 years. You could certainly get there with a years or more worth of work, but I doubt that is what you're looking for.

The grind in WoW will put you to sleep, and lower your IQ, if the community doesn't first.

In wow, there is nothing useful that people have from years ago to make them any better at pvp except experience.  Anyone can get a decent set of pvp gear in a couple of weeks and get a really good set in double that time.  All the while being competitive.

People who have played wow for years don't get magic 1 shot abilities on new players, let alone have any useful items that are more than a few months old and anyone else has access to.

You talk about lowering IQs after giving out this type of information?

Not only experience, but the far more important aspect of a MMO; relationships. One can't jump into WoW, and be maxed in 5 months. Heck, it took me 3 months just to get 80. Then you will have to build relationships with people who will arena/raid. That is why veterans have any upper hand. I'm not surprised I had to spell it out for a WoW vet.

Move along, and insult the guy who just rolled a new 80 and isn't doing 4k DPS(another wonderful trait of WoW basement dwellers).

After playing all three WAR is as superior to WOW & EQ2 PVP wise as those two are to WAR's PVE.

Haven't touched WAR since 5 months after release, but if Mythic hasn't solved the lousy sync between activating skills, the animation, and when the UI reported the damage, than it still doesn't hold a candle to WOW.  WAR's biggest problem besides the linear world design and lousy PvE, was just how screwed up everything actually functioned.  You go from WOW where you see the spell go off, the fireball hits the target and EVERYTHING is in perfect sync.  Then you go to WAR where the animation happens, the spell doesn't even fire, OR maybe it did, and then the damage shows up seconds later.  Frustrating beyond belief.  It always felt off.

What I'm looking for (in order from most important to least):

    •Immersion

    •PvP

    •Character customizability

    •Solid PvE

•The less feel of grind, the better

    •Good Population

EQ2 would be your best bet I feel, Immersion wise its the only one that does it for me on your list, I have never bothered with EQ2 PvP I'm more of a PvE person my self, Character customization is there with EQ2 not at all with War or WoW least last I played, PvE wise EQ2 has it again, it is a truly huge and deep world, EQ2 at least for me had no grind, it levels fairly fast especaly the first 30 or so, the quests and dungons fill in the gaps so I never got a feeling of farming X mob for Y years to hit level +1 and in terms of population, it may not have 12mill subs but you can always find some one at your level or at least I could when I played (its been 6m or so) the main reason for this is the expansions it seems that they release 2 a year 1 for low level content and 1 for high level so it seems you always have new players on trial + old players roling somthing new.

I will admit I am looking for a new MMO home, half playing Aion but cant seem to "get into it" (I have no fear of grinding my self) the list I am looking at (in no particualr order)

    EQ2

    LotRo

    Requiem

    Vanguard

All in all I know EQ2 will be the mark though, my hold up with it is that I have been there done that, then again there is a new expansion since then lol.

    Notes on the above

EQ2: I have played this one and had my fun with it, I am shopign for a MMO for 3 people my self, wife and sister so even though I have played it through as has the wife it is new to at least 1 of us, it has the best feature set, good looks and is stable, on the down side its a hier cost than 2 of the others and I have played it though so nothign new really

LotRo: again been there done that but its a good game, lower sub cost solid PvE no "real" PvP but the monster play is a nice break now and then, teh game mechanics are spot on; I hate the modeling and though I like the IP I dont really care for the story in MMO form

Requiem: the price is right at free, $5 or $10 depending on the options you want but as a free game it lacks in content and depth, it is fun (at least for a few) and yet again I have played it

Vanguard: This is the only one I have not played through to any level of completion, ran through the early levels sure some time ago, the game has gotten better and the population lower and now news of its future look even worce so ya prolly out of the list all together but worth consideration I say

So why I dont consider WoW and War, well I am WoWed to death and have been since 2007 or so, War was a major let down for me I did like the PvP aspects but PvE was linear and boaring with no social aspect to speak of, teh starter areas are the best part or where I haven't been back since.

    STAY OFF WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!

i just had a post explaining my experience.

Played for 3 years.. it hightens ur expectations of all other games and makes other games feel boring..

without WoW in teh equation you don't have blizz's garbage idea of leveling and an easy game..

I say take WoW out of your list altogether..

not coming from an ANTI-WOW guy, just a suggestion.. You will be much happier without WoW to compare your games to.

Or the game with locked servers and you can do ANYTHING 24/7 in cross server mechanisms wherever whenever whatever you are.
With WOW - CATA to follow within 9 months and a motion picture to spam the (Fantasy) world interest for the next 3 years...
EQ2 died 5 years ago in a head to head "battle" with WOW. Although it wasn't even a match really, while WAR died 3 months after launch. From 123 servers to 4.

Correction, one dead game(WAR) and one game thats holding its own just fine. Even in its "dead" state, EQ2 offers more depth and interesting content than the mishmash of ezmode fart jokes that WoW has become.

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Just because you cannot do something doesn't mean everyone else is incapable of doing it.  I still fail to see where your claims have substance since it is very possible to achieve what you say is impossible.

There are always people looking for arena partners, looking for new guild members, new raid spots open, dungeon groups open, etc.  Maybe you will not be the best pvp player on the server 2 months after hitting max level, but you should be able to compete with that person assuming you have decent skills.   They certainly will not have some multiple year gear advantage over you as you suggest when you claim they will 1 shot you.  Having long term relationships with other players will not somehow allow them to 1 shot new players either.

Sorry if you felt insulted, but your IQ comment was very inflammatory and I though ironic considering the misinformation you were giving out.   I was discrediting your information, not you.
