It seems that the game compromised on the UI badly. First, there are only 3 horizontal action bars allowed on the screen, and one vertical action bar. Apparently, it is not enough. OK, I can live with that. Just place most useful things in the action bar.
The most unprofessional UI was, your avartar status is on the bottom left. And a huge picture of your avartar's face which I think is not necessary to be there, or could be smaller. The most importance on the screen to pay attention all time are 2 lines of status bar, health and mana.
It is so incovenient to see your own status information during combat, yup, especially for a healer, you see the entire group members from on area of the screen but have to move your eye view down to the screen, it's absolutely not professional design.
When you grouped, you will see your own status bar within the group, not separately on the bottom left corner of the screen.
It's like when you driving a car, your speed meter is not with other meters but you have to look elsewhere separately during driving.

I agree UI could be better... but it's not that bad.
If NCsoft dont want to allow Add-ons... at least they could make something like WAR has. It's kind of an UI editor which let you to move your Action bars, HP and Mana Bars, Remove useless things, etc.
Perhaps it will happen in an expansion ?

I've had no problems with the UI
sorry if you require special assistance with that =/
Can't you just make it look like default wow's UI from options so you don't have everything on the bottom?
Are you playing Assasin... I bet no... YOu need pretty good eyes just to see where you are at in terms of runes carving

The UI needs everything to be moveable. No UI should have any part that a player can't move to where they want it on the screen, be it quickslots, cast bar, whatever. Everybody's tastes are different, so let people put things where they want. In LOTRO all you had to do was hit ctrl-/ and suddenly you could move EVERY aspect of the ui to where you wanted it. WAR had something like this too. If you're not going to allow custom mods like WoW than this is basically a required feature imo.
it gives you another optionh in the options section. HUD set up or something, it looks like wow kind of. in terms of set up.
any one else get the feeling that you're being watched...? OMG LOOK ITS LOOKING AT US, THAT PERSON! YOU IN THE CHAIR WITH YOUR MMO FACE ON! YEAH YOU!!!
This must be bizaro world if someone claims Aion is a better game than WoW...
In the option stettings you can have the HUD displayed on top which looks very much like WoW UI.
Weird...one of the only decent things I thought of Aion was the UI. The rest of the game was utter shite, IMHO.
I actually prefer Aion's default UI over WoW's default UI. The key here being default - the default UI in WoW is AWFUL.
The default UI looks as good as WoW's, but zero customization. The pet UI is worse too, since it mixes pet's skills with yours, instead of providing an exclusive pet skill bar. But at the same time, it isn't necessary since all pets share skills (with different functionality depending on pet).
It's good for me. But I expected something more instead of a vanilla UI.
And gettign into cusmoization and addons, what I really miss are all the cooldown alarms and indicators. When you have ten skills with 10s-30s CDs, it gets messy without any clear indicator.
Then we could get into the 7 debuff limit, the lack of diminishing returns on CC, the use of pots to clear debuffs, etc...
Again, it's OK. But I expected something more... elaborated.
