STO's forum nazis

in Star Trek Online

i have to laugh at how forum moderators these days will take absolutely any post down unbecoming of any game for absolutely no reason.  no one was being an asshat to one another, nor was there any flaming of any type going on. 

someone started a thread about how slow the patch was going, as most people were below 30% of a 2 gig patch after several hours of patching (im getting about 1% every 20 min or so) and low and behold it disappears. 

i have no problem whatsoever with threads that are either out of hand,incessantly flaming, or have people at each others throats being removed, but i mean come on, we were just verifying that it wasnt on our end or ip connections.  people really need to learn how to take constructive criticism and let people have rational and civilized discussions on matters, and unfortunately this is the way it seems to be heading overall on the entire planet and not just in stupid game forums.  at this rate we will all be united under an iron fisted socialist regime because that seems to be the way most people want it for whatever reason, and quite frankly that scares the hell out of me.  who is raising these people to think like this?

    they keep removing the threads, unless they finally came to their senses and let a reasonable and rational discussion run its course.  i know they had been removing threads on the subject repeatedly today

    Well considering the discussion of slow download is BEAT topic ratehr than GD then its understandable why they removed it to beta Forums, after all why discuss something in public that 90% of the posters in GD have no knowledge of, may as well move it than try and moderate a whinefest of people whining about stuff that doesnt involve them

     theres a simple fix for download speed issues, drop the 24.4 dial up and get broadband already, sheesh, dam nuubs, lulz

    It's those crazy Americans.  The capitalism has gone to their heads.  Raising people to believe that if they own property, the can act like it belongs to them and kick those that dislike off it.  I agree it's disgusting.  Star Trek Online doesn't belong to cryptic, it belongs to all people!  You and I man, we can start a revolution!  We can rally together groups of the workers.. i mean.. ehm.. players and show them who has the true power!

    WTF dude?? Seriously, get some perspective. Just because you can't download a game, and subsequently unable to post about in on a GAME forum, isn't the downfall of the civilized world. FFS.  Is that your teabag showing? lol.

    Yeap... The latest patch to STO is huge (From what I hear). The patching servers are so overloaded that it was even affecting CO's login and patch servers yesterday. This only means that the game is very popular with the testers if so many want the latest patch on the first day it was released. This bodes very well for STO.

     

    As for the mods being 'Forum Nazis' for deleting closed beta related posts from open discussion you need to get a grip. Those posts were in violation of the NDA as is this thread as well. That is why they were deleted and for no other reason.

    This will probably be closed just like the thread that had the closed beta footage was. All I can say is I'm glad I got a chance to see it because the space battles look very sweet. It's nice to see how the game plays for yourself than to go by what someone ...ahem...claims to "hear". ;)
