This game is good. You should try it out

I recently purchased Darkfall and I must say I'm quite Impressed. The game is actually pretty good. The only thing thats bad thing about the game is the community. The community is pretty harsh, especially if your new to the game. Alot of asshats in this game, however there not all bad. I have met some pretty nice people on here as well, but they are all older players.

I find most of the younger ones, or the ones who are in their late 20's who act like little 14 year olds to be quite abnoxious, and socially retarded (Meaning they don't know how to communicate, or socialize with people in the game.), most of them sit there all day on Race or Race Alliance chat with nothing better too do with their time. It's to bad some of these bad people represent the game to the new players and it turns them off. So I can see why not many people play this or have gotten turned off by it in the past.

The game though is really good. It has alot of content in it, and very fun. If you like pvp or liked shadowbane you should check this game out.

The day I will try Darkfall out will be the day they have a free trail or if there is any buddy keys for this game.

I would love to try this game, on paper, it really looks awesome but looking on various forums, the feral community is what's keeping me  from subbing.

This. Are there any plans to offer a trial? Don't think I could ever buy a game I didn't play for a bit first. I've done that once already with a game and it went all wrong.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

They are currently only available in Greece through some sort of magazine. So unfortunately you may have to wait for now.

Don't wait for a free trial, you will be missing out and it will be that much better when you are ahead of the pack when a free trial eventually does come out.  54$ is worth feeling like a noob again by itself.  I spent at least 30$ everytime I go to a bar, the amount of entertainment that can be gleaned from this game is well worth the cost.  6 month subs are now available at a rediculously low price.

As much as I love Darkfall, I can't in good concience tell anyone to run out and buy the game without trying it. It's simply not for everyone.

    There's seriously a 50/50 chance you won't like it.

That said, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a trial either. Those who are eager to try the game really need to ask themselves a few questions...

Am I willing to suck for a while, and to be fodder for the more experienced, while I work to become better?

Am I willing to realise that gear means nothing, and that I must be willing to simply shrug off having it taken from me?

Am I willing to accept the fact that death happens, and just pick myself up and continue on?

If you can do these things, you'll likely enjoy the game. If not...don't bother. You'll just /ragequit and end up wasting your money.

I think this originated from the fact that DF used to be trolled insanely by haters, which made the DF fans in general very aggressive against outsiders. In game it's by far not as harsh. Of course you have the pkers going around trying to spoil the fun but as a new player I made the experience that for every pk there is another vet player who helps you out even if you are running around solo. Heck there are even vet players around newbie spawns healing and buffing and keeping an eye out for gankers a lot of times.

This is however from a dwarf/human/mirdain point of view.

I used to play RFonline. So while that would be a yes to most of those I will take you advice and wait. I rarely venture out side FPS games for PvP but I will occasionally peek in on a PvP MMO to see if they have it right yet.

I would try it if there was a free trial. I can't see paying to try it out.

you are complelty right my friend. And btw that sig rocks i love it.

    @Sheilina

Yeah I guess maybe players on that side of the fence are a little nicer, but over on the human side or the orks it's not so friendly. The Pking dosn't bother me one bit. It's a part of the game. It's the community that bothers me. Most of them are really socially retarded. The worst ones are the ones are in the new player channels and some guy asks a simple question and he gets spammed by like 6 people swearing at him and calling him names.

I really think this game caters to the mentally ILL and the spastic mongoloid gamers who take the game so seriously it's like life or death to them, and if somthing dosn't go their way they start pounding on their keyboards and start going into convulsions over ventrillo. It's no wonder why people get turned off by the game. It's not the game it's the community. I'm just thankful I found a guild were the people are actually normal and talk to me like an adult and not a 8 year old.
