Help us out a bit,
what have you already played?
Perhaps you should try Lineage 2
Lineage II it is.
Umm...Lineage 2 is a huge grind, so be forewarned about that one...
Hmm...maybe the original EQ or Asheron's Call?
Check out the MUD I'm making!
Tried Ryzom?
Free three week unlimited trial, though, if you like questing it may not be the game for you. Oh, and you cant bunnyhop around in it.
F2P/P2P excellent thread.

Face Of Mankind, everything but end game included.
Safe bet is WoW. It's decent in every aspect and has many options. For a good community choose Shattered Halls (jk, all scrubs). You can get max level in a week if you power grind like I did (quests are useless and same old). Arena is a joke but bg's are a good way to burn time if you dislike open world pvp in Aion (most people claim to love it yet they hate it once they get ganked over and over). Decent game that aged pretty well and if you never tried it you will enjoy it.
games i'v played.... lol thats one huge list
Guild wars
Wow
Age of Conan
Campions
Burning Seas
World of Warcraft
EverQuest2
Warhammer Online
Dungeons and Dragons
Ragnarok online (last mmo I love)
Voyage Century (I liked this one cause it was different)
Navy Field
Fallen Earth
A tale in the Desert 3 and 4
I know there is more... But AC is still around ?! with a decent community?
You need Darkfall... if you dare!
Alot of fantasy games there, but i think you should try Eve Online, very different advancement method.. you advance entirely offline... and it dosen't take very long to be a relevant force in a pvp engagement. So long as you play enough to have isk to buy your ships. Pvp is very fun and rewarding, it has a lot of risk.. but don't let that scare you... you'll never want to play another pvp game again. Um... you can drop items in space (kind of the same right?) , i missed this from EverQuest, lol, thanks for reminding me.
Hope this helps, shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Check out the MUD I'm making!
It's not than i'm a fanboy, it's just that i've done my best to try all the games that have come out in the past couple of years, and i've chosen to play the best one i've found. I've recommended what i think is the best game for each particular person. If you disagree i'd love to discuss it with you.
