So I finished my free trial of fallen earth today. I am shocked at how bad this game is and how high its rated. Before this game I had been playing darkfall and loved it but wanted to give FE a try. FE quests are mediocre at best they are a lot of kill 10 of these gather 15 of this etc. The PVP is absolutely terrible no one is in the PVP zones and there is no reason to PVP, If you kill someone you stand to gain nothing. The game has mobs that chase you to no end and will keep hitting you as you run away for huge distances and even hit you when they seem to be 100 feet away. The game has loot glitches that occur when you attempt to loot a corpse your character is frozen for a few minutes. The graphics and world is not impressive at all. Basically this game is horrible I can't find one thing going for it even the fighting system is weak and uneventful. The only positive I hear people really talking about in game is the crafting system but I found it boring. I am going back to darkfall get some actual pvp

Anyways, to some degree I agree with you. The game just doesn't cut it for me, which is a shame since Fallout 3 (which is somewhat similar) is one of my favorite single player games. I understand why some love it and some don't. To each his own.
I loved fallout 3 but this is nothing like fallout 3. The cities don't have the appeal of the cities in fallout and the quests are not even close to on the same level as fallout 3.
I agree with you
Sorry you had such a terrible time, but lets clear a few of these issues up. First, it sounds like you've had some sync issues. If you're getting stuck when trying to loot or harvest, its most likely a problem with you syncing correctly or lagging... but I've only experienced that issue once in my 3 months of play. If you contact a GM they can help you with that issue.
You played a 10 day trial.. you probably didn't get very far at all... you won't see PvP in S1 until you get way north.. and even then you won't see too much. All the PvP is in S2 and up.. which you really won't experience until at least level 15 if you want to be competitive. Mobs do chase you, but only ranged mobs will hit you from 100 ft away.. you won't encounter those until S2 either...
It sounds like you had terrible sync and connection issues... definitely not common.. but its been known to happen. Enjoy darkfall!
And to add to the above, you can outrun mobs on a horse, as long as it's not the old nag from the tutorial.
Different strokes, I kind of like the fact that mobs don't give up chasing you after x no. of seconds.
I'm sorry you had problems with looting etc, and I'm sorry you didn't have fun in the Wasteland.
I can understand being annoyed with glitchiness like you experienced, but I don't understand you bashing the game without having tried to see if there was a fix for the issues you were having (GMs are really easy to contact in FE and the forum is full of player-generated fixes for most anything you come across).
So again, sorry you didn't enjoy the experience, but that doesn't mean that those of us who do enjoy the game are wrong or lying hype-merchants - and it doesn't mean the game is overrated, just that it wasn't for you.
As an example: I'm in the OB for STO, and I'm not planning on buying the game, but I'm also not bothered with posting all over the STO forums to bash the game. It's not my kind of game, but it's no skin off my nose if other people like it.
I just don't get the need to decry everything you don't enjoy as useless/broken that so many posters here seem to have.
Must be getting mellow in my old age.... ; )
Saying "I have been playing Darkfall and loved it" and at the same time criticizing FE's quests, glitches, graphics and world in general is beyond funny.
Shilling is in the air....
DB
Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
It's the new shill tactic. Spread ill-informed, un-educated half-truths about a game while mentioning how the game you are shilling is nothing like that. Except that 90% of the things the OP complains about are not game issues but issues with his internet connection, system, how things are set up or some combination. I rarely see any of the issues people like this complain about because I actually take the time to make sure that I am doing things correctly. I'm reporting this as a troll because frankly there is nothing else it can possibly be. Who makes a new account on some random fansite just to make a post like this? Either a straight up shill or troll, or both.

Now, to the OP: you didn't review or anything you just posted an opinion, which is that one-sided and exaggerated that I'm not sure if it's a serious opinion or just a troll attempt. But since we are on the internet, I just assume that it is a serious opinion and you just couldn't put it into the right words:
Quests:
First I personally like the quests in FE. When you do quests like "guys robbed the bank, get the money back from them" you can for example still talk to those you should find and have several dialogue options. Also the quest chains don't require you to constantly run back to an NPC, but often get updated and change while you are doing them. In addition there are quests I haven't seen before in other MMORPGs (like "track down XY" where you follow a trail that gets constantly updated) and the crafting quests are more fun than in other games because the crafting itself is great.
Mob chasing:
That the mobs chase you... well people have to decide what they want. Some people enjoy games where, when you hit a mob, you can step back 2 metres and then the mob runs back to his old place to wait for certain doom. And some people like games where the mobs actually trace you.
Bugs:
Glitches... I haven't had any loot bugs for a long time. Maybe they exist, maybe they don't, all MMORPGs have bugs. And seriously: complaining about bugs in FE while hyping DF is just hypocricy.
Graphics:
The graphics are fine in my opinion and I enjoy them. They are realistic, detailed and you have an incredibly long seeing distance.
Crafting:
And that you dislike the crafting... well why is that? And how would you want it to be like? I personally like the crafting system, I haven't seen any better in any other game I played.
PvP:
I'm personally a PvE player. If I want to do PvP I play a game where everyone got the same chances (like TF2) and not the one where the player wins who did the most grinding.
In short:
I think FE is a great game. Many people think FE is a great game. You don't think so. Maybe it's because you're a troll or just think that bashing any game that ain't the one you're subbed to is your duty, I don't know. Maybe you're also simply not into PvE, or crafting, or realistic games in general. Maybe you also just need more colorful games. Fact is: that you dislike FE doesn't make it worse. It doesn't make it better either. Well, maybe it makes it better since then there are less FE players with a view as narrow minded as yours. Or maybe it's simply not your game, but such things happen I guess.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
I loved Fallout 1 and 2 and absolutely hated Fallout 3.
Fallen Earth is way better than F3. These two are not even close.
PvP gives you toll points, PvP is usually about conquering the places to get better vendor prices, and open a few missions with solid rewards. Additionally, PvP zones have much higher frequency of crafting nodes.
REALITY CHECK
I do also play Darkfall, and did try the FE trial...and loved it : )
It is a good example of two different gameplay styles within MMOs. First i didnt tell my DF friends i was trying FE, but when i did...it turned out they all had done it at same time as i did : (
I agree with the game being overhyped. Wish the trial was out when I purchased the game, because I would have saved myself $50 over this PoS.
Hope you learned a lesson and that lesson is to stick to the game you already love playing. Obviously if you have doubt and don't really like a particuler game then it's obvious to try something else, just don't do this when you already have found that game.
On a side note, I feel people who find the missions (since they not called quest) mediocre must be those type of people that don't read the text, but quickly skip and only read what needs to be done, then sure it those type of people will view it mediocre.
Then the no pvp , in the early stages it's pretty obvious cause the game offers so much I don't think reall pvp'rs want to go in blind into a PVP zone cause there is simple to much they need to know/learn to make themself a good opponent. Besides it's better in S2, but even there its'not the main things since we then need to learn and get used to our mutation skills we try to build.
Think 2 little patches ago they fixed the lock on loot mode already, myself never experianced this, really never, while I that hamster that picks up about anything I see.
The combat system is unlike most current mmo's where in most you don't really need to target the mob/creature, nor do you need any kind of focus to actually kill something, FE is very different indeed and I can fully understand why many don't like it the way it is. Due to it being so different then the norm.
As I read you last comment not sure why you as a pvp player even left to try out something else, as said in the beginning of this post, do not leave a game if you already love it, will almost alway's make the game you want to try not really worth it.
Anyway have fun in Darkfall, not my type of game, but see no reason to talk about it like some new people into this genre seem to do about games they don't like.
(Responses to points OP made are in yellow within the quoted area)
Good luck to you in Darkfall. It's just a shame you had to make an account to slam Fallen Earth in this manner. Many of the things you listed were simply something on your end that most likely could have been resolved with a little searching on forums or asking in chat while in game.
