Definately looks awsome. All the flashy fighting moves and good looking character models catched my eye. I've been looking for a game that includes this kind of "kung fu" fighting and such, that this game supposedly contain I don't think it can be compared to Aion just from looking at the screenshots and videos out there. Thus I hope it won't be somewhat a clone of Aion, because that will just categorize it as many of the well known MMORPGs in the field right now.
I don't think it will bring a allnew path to the MMORPG genre. But I do think it will step out from the crowd with its fighting system, which looks awsome. But then again, what can you tell from screenshots and videos in that matter.
Which games I would like it to have a relation to?(without going into detail) ; EverQuest II, Final Fantasy series.
I hope people at all interested will download the 12 minute trailer in HD from the bladeandsoul.com site. Screen shots don't do the visuals justice.
I watched an interview with the developers. It's a totally separate team from the one that worked on Aion. They are trying to do a lot of innovative things that haven't been done in an MMORPG before, but rather than being a list of wishful features for marketing purposes, a lot of this stuff has been in from early on in the process, rather than being cool stuff they'll add if they have enough time and money.
That doesn't mean they are satisfied yet with what features they have added so far. In the interview, they were blunt about the fact that they hoped Aion would continue to be successful, because it will allow them more time to keep adding innovative features to the game.
I get the impression that the client is already pretty robust and a lot of content is already in place (they have been working on this game for some time already), but that NCSOft is willing to give them more time to really shine with the title. Assuming, of course, Aion doesn't implode and require B&S release to be pushed up.
My speculation, based on the little we do know, is that this game could be released as early as November 2010, but 2011 is more likely, once again depending a bit on how Aion holds up.
I just hope we get near simultaneous release in the West. If we lag 10 months behind Korea like we did with Aion, I might just have to pull my hair out!
I'm looking forward to this game also, but I have a big fear of any game that looks good of being overhyped. It's happened way too many times before and I hope this won't be one of them. Having said that, the visual looks amazing, as expected from NCsoft, who have always made good looking games.
The main thing I'm looking at is what kind of new experience B&S is going to give me, and everyone else. Definitely one to watch out for methinks.
I think it looks very promising. I hope people at all interested will download the 12 minute trailer in HD from the bladeandsoul.com site. Screen shots don't do the visuals justice. Aion's expansion will release in both Korea and here simultaneously. Vision, Steel Dog & Metal Black Alternative will release here first before B&S.
I think I'll wait until there's a game to be played.

quite honestly this looks like one of the best mmos ever made. And if they can deliver on everything they are saying, it will hands down be the best. Its the first mmo that seems to have combat being relatively similar to fighting games (extremely fast paced with combos, and other things like warping around and jumping 20 feet in the air, running on walls, and yes even grappling, grabbing, throws, knockdown, and ground grappling, etc). The only thing I'm worried about is that with these fighting game-style mechanics theres a fair possibility that the only place that has an internet connection capable of running such a game decently is South Korea and maybe some parts of the UK (for those of you that don't know, South Korea statistically has the fastest internet in the world, where 100 megabit is a standard connection. They are aiming for 1000 megabits by 2012).
