Originally posted by Daemonic-Daz It is a cool game to play through but once you've played through it and got the juicy plot line in your head it begins to feel like a endless grind just to get levels and high level loot. I play it now and then when some friends are online but for now it mostly sits on the shelf gathering dust.
What are the add-on packs like out of curiosity? (Worth the extra money?)
I've only bought the mad moxxis pack so far, but I feel its worth it. It comes with a bank... and a pve arena. If you have friends to play with, the arena is super fun.. and extremely tough. I usually only play with friends when I get on my xbox now.. so I haven't gone through the whole arena yet, but it definitely adds a good deal of additional playtime.
I sooo wasted $50 on this. I can't believe how shallow this game is once you hit the level cap. Did they really expect a small content pack ($10) was going to fix this?
Also, I have a complex wireless router setup for the household I live at... so port forwarding to create servers is a nightmare!
This game really should have been a pure single player game or have had a dramatically different engine.

I absolutely loved this game. It combined good FPS aspects, some RPG elements, seemingly endless loot-hunting, and co-operative play to boot! I've been through the game twice and I'm still not bored with it. I also really liked the texture/color style. Although not overly complicated or colorful, it seemed to fit in perfectly with the grungy characters and overall feel of the game.
Borderlands is definitely one of the best PS3 games I've ever played. Thank you 2K for giving me hours and hours of gaming pleasure.
You hit level cap didn't you? Most games these days provide an average of something like 9-12 hours of content and that is it. These aren't MMO's with endless grinds.
*sighs nostalgically*
I remember when it could take a week minimum to "beat" a good singleplayer game.
*shuffles away*
I remember 20 years ago when it could take an hour or 2 to fully beat a game, dont know what time your talking about.

you must have really sucked at games. I used to beat most of them in 1-2 days. And that was playing them much less per day than I do now.

Umm, whole point of hack & slash? Don't let the SF setting and FPS perspective fool you, this is a H&N game.

Hmm doesn't every game become shallow after the level cap or the ending....
It Still was worth it's money tho.
I still enjoy Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto, Assassins Creed and other games even tho i've beaten them countless times.
not that wasted IMO, i agree that Borderlands get's dull after a while
but i had fun playing it from lv 1 to 50 with my friends, and i would only play Borderlands when the 4 of us is available
otherwise, Borderlands arent meant to play with only single player
because Multiplayer is where the fun lies, all the Best Loots are only dropping when you have 4 players playing it
but well, if it's about worth, it's pretty worth it
So What Now?
Third DLC pack coming. New vehicles, weapons and a rasied level cap.

New vehicles and missions?
Sounds like I'll have to catch up and buy a few of these add-on packs.
Lasted for about 12 hours. Not worth 50 bucks.
