Sorry, no such animal.
Wish someone would make one. Seems ilke it would make a profit if you didnt' spend to much money on development.
;( what about Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Why would you want a "clone" of a game you've already played and enjoyed? Why not just keep playing it? O.o I guess that confuses me a bit.
Like...I liked WoW...for a while. But when I finally got bored with it and left....the LAST thing I wanted was a CLONE of it. Generally clones aren't quite as sharp as the original (think the movie "Multiplicity"), so since the original lost me eventually....I wouldn't think a clone would do any better, or even...as well.

Well Aika online is a F2P cash shop game that is built around large scale RvR. Beta starts tomorrow and there may still be a key on the main site. It is a Korean game, and it seems like it might have some strange pedo things going on, but it's the only thing that may be like what you are looking for.
I'm guessing pvp is important to you since DAOC is your favorite, so Vanguard probably won't be a good option. Darkfall is, in my opinion, the best game out there if you want a fantasy setting and a pvp fix. If setting doesn't matter, EVE is worth a look. If you want gameplay similar to DAoC you're out of luck. Some claim Aion does RvR better than WAR, but I haven't played it so can't comment.
Mabye not a clone, but a new game, that is similar to the old DAOC style.
DAOC has changed and its not has good, its old, its losing subs and it changed
Since i'm not a mmorpg news followers, I was asking on the forum to see if anyone knows a similar game which is very active and similar to daoc, there is so plenty of new mmorpg, im sure one of them is crazy fun.

Reqnum is an old school clone of DAoC.

Yeah, big slap in the face 40% vs 100% enemies buffs, ya right... I had 3 accounts couldnt keep up when I was at school.
main account, buffbot, powerleveling
Thanks for the reply all, I will look into Darkfall, but do you need to aim like an fps in darkfall or the spell goes to the guy directly?

Yeah, combat is fps-like in Darkfall. It's nothing like DAoC gameplay wise. The only reason to recommend it to a DAoC veteran is that pvp is the main focus in the game, not just an afterthought like in most of the other games you listed. It's also not RvR. It's full pvp and players make their own alliances. A lot of the PVP is focused around territorial control, though.
where do you put AION on all of this, pvp wise and the aftertought?

I haven't played Aion, or DAoC. I just know that both Darkfall and Aion has a lot of former DAoC players who play them primarily for the pvp. If you want good comparisions, go to the Aion board and Darkfall board and ask what former DAoC players like/dislike about the their new game.
The closest thing to it is Warhammer Online, but it still does not hold a candle to DAoC.
Vanguard? Not even in the Ballpark
Darkfall? No way
Aion? I can see were your going with that but still, No.
Dark Age is the only game that had a great balance of PvE & RvR. PVP? Same as any other PvP game. It was the RvR that made this game stand out from the Rest. I think its time for a Dark Age 2, upgraded graphics for today’s standards. I would play.
Over the years DAoC has lost a huge number of their player base to other games and lack of innovative expansions. The game isn’t what is used to be. People want a new DAoC to compete with the AAA titles of today. DAoC came before wow, from experience during that transition time numerous amounts of people like me wanted to explore new ideas that the other MMO gaming community was offering. I think mythic did a smart move by making Warhammer over DAoC 2, it gave them room to screw up, and experiment with new ideas without bashing the RvR master. Thankfully there isn't a clone of DAoC, I wouldn't play it if there was, and I would just go back to DAoC and start all over again.
well considering the pvp in the game was messed up to begin with, and the carebears drove them out of the game... its far from being a DAoC clone, though a great PvE game.
OP: Did you try WoW when it was just released? that had some very satisfying pvp imo, which kind of went away when BC came.
There are no real good pvp games on the market anymore imo. Correction, there are no good RvR games on the market at the moment. Aion is full of horribad design, WoW kind of lost it (it might come back with cataclysm with world pvp), but thats just about it. The only other pvp games on the market are niche games with FFA pvp set ups, EVE, Darkfall, AoC..ect
Just to clarify, I didn't recommend Aion and Darkfall because they are similar to DAoC. I recommended Darkfall because it's a game with exciting/meaningful pvp and huge battles... something that might appeal to a former DAoC player. I mentioned Aion because it (supposedly) has an RVR-like mechanic with 3 factions (though one is an NPC faction) and the game is quite popular.
Anyway, no matter how hard you try, no game will ever replace your first MMO that felt like home.
You need to aim in Darkfall, no autoattack its a sandbox game not a themepark.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....

If your in hardcore free for all pvp with full loot no safezones play Darkfall.
If you want carebear no risk fluffy pvp with flying angels go play aion

Go back to warhammer
if you try Aion, I would suggest a wrist brace and large quantities of alcohol(or drugs) since you will be doing the same mind numbing grinding of boring basic AI mobs day in and day out. with little to no interaction from anyone in the community. since most only group to finish quest and nothing more (grouping is garbage exp compared to solo grinding.)
as for quests get read for those wonderful 50000 xp quests ... when you need 7 million exp.
then and only then if you get to 50 and you think woohoo im 50, then you get to start the AP grind and the crafting grind so you can make your Fenris/Miragent armor. in which you are at the mercy of the Random Number generator ... you have to get lucky and hope your crafting session "crits" in order to make said armor.
then you can compete in PVP. until you get a high rank in PVP then you want to stick to PVE, because if you die in PVP you lose points and your rank.
have fun in Aion!
the Evil Raider that outgears you and makes you cry for welfare epics on the forums.
DAoC is to faction warfare in MMOs what "Reign in Blood" and "Stairway to Heaven" are to their respective genres of music.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

I agree, let's see if Mythic will make daoc 2 in the future
