theres alot of talks and links from both U.S. And Euro servers/forums that on test live the current siege fixes have shown dramatic improvments (about @#%# time.....) with the more siege testing they do the better on test live.
with the current release of 1.06, further talks saying that some of the siege fixes have ninja'd its way into live. not going to hold my breath, but tonight it will be put to the test for tonights siege i will be participating in.
Ill Let you guys know if its all cracked up to be.
P.S. no i will not try to play the game in DX 10 in a siege, im not that suicidal.
Comments

Not about being skeered
its about watching my computer drop to its knees in sheer pain, and giving it a stroke in the process.. when i upgrade from my 9600GT then ill consider it
Well gone to one of the sieges, a total lag fest..
whenever they do the update and fixes it will be announced
Good to know, going to be good when it fully hits live.
The first siege Brudi mentioned was alot better for me. Some lag but no spikes or stuttering, not one crash. I ran it in dx10 as well btw w/ 1680x1050.

ill say at least neither siege expereinced no crashes, so that is perhaps a step to the right direction.
also the siege i was in was VERY CASTER /RANGE HEAVY ( good lord).
here is a video for it:

We are preparing some a small 1.06.1 update to take of some of the minor tweaks and adjustments after the update, but more importantly we are also preparing the new hardware configurations aimed at resolving siege performance for the live servers.
As of this morning we are still working on final builds for a 1.06.1 version. If we can get everything tested and ready we are aiming to release that this week.
However, if we don't get the update ready, we will release the new hardware configurations anyway. The operations team have signed off that they are comfortable for the change to go live, and we don't want to hold it back any longer than we have to. So regardless of whether we go with a 1.06.1 update this week we will release the new hardware configurations to the live servers.
in what ever shape or form it will come in, the next pieces are indeed coming.
