World of Warcraft can't win in a name infringement case otherwise World of Lovecraft can sue both of them.
Did you look at the website? There are many more reasons Blizzard can sue this game besides just the name...
We have a prior case of Apple vs. Microsoft on MS Windows. Microsoft came out on top. The verdict was the source codes of MS Windows had nothing to do with the intellectual properties of Apple’s File Systems. They just look like each other.
We need to realize one can’t merely sue the others if they have similar graphics or words used in their games unless there are copyright in place. More importantly, words like Alliance and Horde are common words. Nobody can copyright them. I think one can argue names of some places like Moonglade and Stranglethorn are intentionally copied from WoW. I think WoW can sue and may win if they take the case from the direction of INTENTION but that Lord Craft game can always change the names of their zones.
They use screencaps of bloody WCIII in-game. What more do you need?
When an artist draws a big head cartoon beagle everybody thinks it is Snoopy. Get my point?
In RoM they have a beagle dog NPC called Snoop. Have Frogster/Runewalker been sued by Disney?
Look, listen, you do not understand. They do not draw it similarily. They literally use WCIII MODELS. Ripped straight from the game. That's Blizzard PRO-PER-TY!
The point is it is hard to win an infrigement case just from look and feel or whatever models. The MS Windoes case pretty much defined source codes are the property of a software, not what models, how it looks and feels, point and click or whatever. Otherwise you need to have specific trademarks and copyrights on specific items.
Look, okay, I'll make it easier for you. They've ripped the models, straight from their game engine (there are tools to do that) and pasted them into their little flash animations. Outright. They don't "look" or "feel", they're just straight IG models from another game. And I'm pretty sure Blizzard has a copyright for that.
You may think so and Blizzard may have already known. In case they don't maybe you can send them a email. I am interested to find out what laws on software copyright are like now.
I doubt they read the mail, they get.
However, in comparsion to your "Snoopy" analogy before... Using a character, that looks like him is okay, can be filed under "parody" or "reference". However, using slightly edited original comic strips is a lawsuit, waiting to happen. Am I clear now?
I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.
Lol, Games Workshop and Blizzard are in bed together, whether they like it or not. Blizzard wanted to make a Warhammer game. When GW told them no, they took the work and made it Warcraft (bet GW's kicking themselves now). GW added the Tyranid race for Warhammer 40k...an alien swarm with a Hive Mind that existed only to consume all biomass. Blizzard later ripped the Tyranids off to make the Zerg in Starcraft. The Zerg were more popular, and looked a LOT better then the Tyranid models at the time, so when Warhammer 40k's 3rd edition came out, they revamped all the models, making them look Zerg-like...at which point they got into a circular loop. Tyranid Raveners now looked like Hydralisks, Hormagaunts looked like Zerglings. The Carnifex is the Ultralisk...etc. So...they've each now ripped off the other, and both are profiting madly over it.
Jeez, this is game is just plain wrong. Alganon rips off of WoW, but WoL rips off of both WC3 and Rage of Mages. IMO, I think Lordcraft is even crappier than Alganon (shock and awe, I know)
While I agree with you at least WoL is not P2P lol

How is it wrong?
They say on the Homepage that the game is in honor of WoW.
So if a Fan draws a Picture of Arthas and the Ashbringer,,, tha automatically makes them wrong?

I don't think so.

And we ALL win. ^^

Ha! They will be crushed under the corporate boot of Activision-Blizzard.
