So you can go afk and be amazed when you come back? Because you want snow on the ground? That is an astronomical amount of work and processing power for something that does absolutely nothing to change the gameplay. They could make the ground snow textured, maybe you could ask for that, but you don't seem to have any idea how much work it would take to implement what you want.

I already said they could have just put snow over the grass. You failed your reading check and your get a grip check. Telling me to shut up just shows you lack the ability to discuss this like an adult. Maybe once you grow up you can come back and debate like someone who takes the time to have a clue. I am sorry you lack such simple abilities.

I was not aware that asking for them to do a better job in my opinion was such a huge issue for some of you. Some of you took snow piling up and ran off into some truly stupid places. They could have simply covered the grass with a little snow and been done with it.

I honestly do not care how much work goes into any part of this game. It is their job to do their job, just like no one cares what it takes to do my job, my customers tell me what they want, they do not want to hear a long whine about how much work it is. I fail to understand why so many are so willing to just except what they get. That does explain the lack of QA though, the sheep just do not care.

I was disappointed that I logged in around 2PM went to work and logged back in 12 hours later and the grass was still green. Was hoping to see snow pile up a bit. In typical Turbine fashion they get things half right and expect the players to just except it.

I think you forgot that could be intended. There shouldn't snow in Stomreach at all, because that's volcanic continent near equator. You can see much bigger palm trees in Harbor now, to show it better.

Background about this is that it snows, and snows only in Harbor, because some Ice-Wizard came to the city for upcoming festivities and had this idea.

That's only the first part. There will be more events in this "event" that we see now.

Except in your rush to defend Turbine(your usual stance) you seem to have forgotten the ice skating and the other WINTER EVENTS.  SO the snow will not stick but an ice rink will not melt in your theory?

In your rush to attack anyone that doesn't agree with you by saying all they do is defend Turbine (literally you have been doing this for at least a year, and given how often you are incorrect it is a bit ridiculous so calm down Mr Anger), you didn't bother to think if a dynamic system like that even exists in the game engine.

Most likely it does not, but in your mind you would want them to spend months building a system like that into the game (which would have to risk of breaking things) just so you could log in 12 hours after it started snowing and see the ground be white instead of green. It's a game, it's not real life and it doesn't have to be ridiculously realistic. Most other people in the world can understand that a game is just a game but you always get bent out of shape over tiny things and then tell off anyone that doesn't agree with you.

Tell you what, you make a game with dynamic weather such as accumulating snow that supports thousands of people to be logged in at once and I will automatically agree with anything you ever post in the future.

So wanting more is bad? Wow you must live in Utopia. Sorry if I think they can and should do better with these things. I am glad to see you read all my posts. If you did you would have noticed plenty that are not attacking of Turbine, but I guess your accute senses missed those. Maybe you should raise your spot and search skills a little.

They couls have simply covered the grass with snow , it does not have to pile up realisticly. Maybe you should calm down. There is no anger here, except your own obviously.

Care to show me all these incorrect posts? Or like others will you make claims you of course have no proof of. It is very easy to do that so I am sure it will be your defense. Thank you and have a day.

I can do some digging in our post histories if you like :p

    Complaining about snow? Really??

Our disagreements in the past were of the opinion variety. Neither was proven right or wrong, you will always think you were right and I will think I was. That is what happens when opinions are different.

It was not really a complaint. A few have blown a small comment out of proportion(wow there is a shocker here) and made it like I am bashing the game over this. Some need to get a grip and realize Turbine is not family and as a customer I have the right to want more, they may never give it but asking is not a crime. Some here need to learn that already.

I dont know you, or the other guy, or your post histories, but here is a little lesson for you... See the above bit right there?  The comment "the sheep just do not care"?  Thats obnoxious.  So dont try to back pedal and say "hey, I just state my opinion and people blow it out of proportion!"

You're taking an unrealistic, extremist view, leaving zero room for debate, and then personally insulting anyone who doesnt agree.  So everyone who doesnt adopt the ahole attitude of "I WANT WHAT I WANT AND I DONT CARE WHAT IT TAKES!!!" is a sheep then?  Thats obnoxious to the max.

You seem to imply that you are in some sort of customer support function.  I REALLY HIGHLY doubt that and want to call BS on it based on your attitude, but ok, maybe you are.  If you are, then perhaps karma has found you.  It seems like you are forced to suffer customers JUST LIKE YOU day in and day out and it has made you bitter.

Me? Im in a support function as well.  So personally, I try not to be an unrealistic, overly demanding, thoughtless a-hole when it comes to the demands I make because "IM A CUSTOMER DAMNIT!!!!"  I try to keep in mind that there are limits to what is and isnt possible and that everything is a tradeoff in terms of time, money and resources.  I hope that, in a karmic sense, that will pay off and folks will be reasonable in what they demand of *me* day to day. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt.  But I'll tell you what...

Ask 100 customer support people what they think of the person whose position is "I DONT CARE WHAT THE HELL IT TAKES!!! IM THE DAMN CUSTOMER SO GET IT DONE!!!!"  You want to be THAT guy?  Well more power to you...

Bugs? Yes... failing to fix critical bugs for months on end is something worth complaining about.  Calling people "sheep" because they fail to "expect more" in the form of a green ground texture becoming a white ground texture because it has started snowing?  That's small and petty to the vast majority of people and not worth complaining about.  Yes you will find supporters.  It's the internet.  No matter how extreme your viewpoint is, there are supporters.  But those that think this isnt a big deal aren't "sheep".

I could care less about your doubts. My job involves more QA and customer support then anything in an MMO, what we do can have an impact on the health of many people. I know what it takes to do QA right, and Turbine and most MMOs seem to fail at that level. The biggest reason is QA COSTS MONEY, putting out bugs and then fixing later rarely costs as much for them. In my word people could die if we had their QA.

Unrealistic or not, the facts are Turbine ignored bugs they were told about weeks ago, but in typical Turbine fashion they ignored it. The sheep are the ones who say things like: Its very hard to make an MMO so cut them some slack. Sorry but if constantly failing to reach goals is exceptable you are a sheep. Not agreeing with me doe snot make you a sheep, defending failure and mediocrity in the name of ITS TOO HARD does.

People who never ask for more, tend to get exactly what they asked for. Speaking of obnoxious, your entire post fits the bill.

Keep in mind the setting of Eberron is a real campaign setting from the Dungeons & Dragons pencil and paper RPG.  As pointed out earlier, Stormreach does not have a true "winter", given the climate (this is from that setting, not something they 'made up' for the PC game).  The creators had to add a wizard to even justify snow and winter games.  Given the climate, the snow likely melts as it hits the ground.  The spell can only do so much...this isn't Mangar freezing Skara Brae. ;)

The continent Xendrik is actually magically unstable. In one of the book series that came out when Eberron first showed up, its mentioned that one side of a river is will be sweltering hot, and the other side will be bone numbing cold. So having ice games could be explained by either the magic climate, or just a wizard doing something.

EDIT: In the Dreaming Dark Series Book 2 The shattered lands, the heroes go to a part of the continent that is covered in snow, and as they are walking towards some giant ruins, it then turns scorching hot.
