    Really good move.
    They will be able to ban credit cards this way.
    I haven't expected free trial anytime soon...

    I looked at it, it's in the european site too. Good move. When i get bored of what I'm playing right now I'll give it a try with the trial.

    wow this is brand new, just put up a few minutes ago.  Awesome move.

    Hah! I only made the suggestion that Darkfall should try a "trial for a euro" a few days ago on this very site, not saying they stole my idea (they probably didn't) but if they did cool, though it's probably been suggested a billion times over by Darkfall fans themselves.

    I think that this is a great move & I'll almost certainly be giving the game a try in the near future (too much going on to get into a new game right now).

    /thumbs up, game needed a trial to expand it's potential.

    P.S. Just splitting hairs here but it aint free if it's $1.

    Well, I  just subbed to another game- But dammit, looks like I will spending the next week (maybe much more) with DF... I love the concept and just needed a trial to see how it ran on my rig before plopping down half a buck.

    Good job on this AV- Couldnt have happened at a better time... Thank you.

    Very cool - been following the game but won't commit to it without trying it out myself first.  That said though, the title of this discussion is an oxymoron.  If your paying money for it, then the trial isnt "Free".

    $1 for a trial is a different take on doing a trial. But it's still very cheap to try out the game, so now no one has any reason to hesitate trying the game out. (this comes a day after i BUY the game...)

    It isn't free. They are charging 1$ to check if the credit card is valid. Otherwise they won't have any possibility of banning cheaters / gold sellers.

    You think why I haven't seen any gold seller announcements in general chat? They will ban them also. This is best move to protect existing player base.

     This is one of the smartest ideas for anything involving an open beta/ trial/ demo.  They get some extra money, they can keep gold sellers out, they can blocked the credit card of an exploiter, and they can finally get the word out on their game.  

    I do have a question about downloading the client.  I live in germany and will be for about another 4 months, then I will return to the US.  Since the EU client is downloading so much faster, can i use the eu client with a us account? thanks
