The game is definitely a failure but for many other reasons. Performance did suck at release but it runs fine now, some occasional hitching last I played but that was it. If the OPs post had been at release it probably would have been justified but there is obviously something going on with his PC.
The game play is FAR away to be fluent, whatever system you have, seems to be video transfer BANDWITDH/SHADER limited, even with effects on minimum and texure size, you still cant have fluent gameplay.
ps. I've seen some tards starting several topics on how nice run Warhammer, well.. you guys have no idea about what i am talking.. keep dreaming and thinking you know everything.

Fluent? Are you sure you know what that word means? Your post really doesn't make sense. Fluent is a word used in regard to linguistic skills.
That having been said, please don't tell people we have no idea what kind of experience we have when we run the game on our own computers. I do know what I am talking about. The game runs fine. I'm not telling you how the game runs for you - you're trying to tell me how the game runs for me.
That is the height of arrogance; and hypocrisy on top of that to say that I am dreaming. I know how the game runs on *my* system. I have no idea how the game runs on *your* system, nor would I dream of telling you how the game runs on *your* system.
On my system, and many, many others, the game plays very well with less lag or texture loading problems than any other game I play. You can go look on the web and see various youtube videos of people playing the game just fine with huge loads of people. If you choose to disbelieve this that is fine, but do please try and keep your tone civil.

I say to you sir, good day.
runs fine here as well- And I have a terrible video card. I dont like the game, but I'll not lie about it either.
I played WAR at launch, was in a top guild on my server but had to stop playing due to the network induced lag (British Telecom though that there was a massive new peer to peer thing going on and blocked the various ports or something I heard later).
It looked like the game was lagging, but it was because some packets were not getting through from the server so it just stalled, very annoying as I was a healer.
Not sure if its been fixed, might fire up the old special edition again to see if I can actually do anything.
Ain't got a problem for me, you can post all the links you like.
My machine is getting just old enough that i'm starting to drop the wife hints its almost time for a new one so i'm not playing on anything over the top by a longshot. Do I get an occasional lag spike? sure. It an RvR game. Nothing that I consider a game breaker though.
We can debate here forever, however to cut the crap - so many players did NOT leave WAR just for nothing.
On the other hand i'm glad it runs so well on your machines, which met a way higher than original recommended system requirements. I play WAR almost daily myself and it also runs decently on most of my machines... I just can not really understand how narrow-minded some of you must be to lying around how WAR is all great, running good...etc.
Warhammer online failed. That does not mean the game is crap, doesnt mean everything in WAR is bad, but it did failed. It failed for both sides - customers and company behind the game.
WAR failed from EA's perspective, from the devs perspective and from the playerbase perspective, it did not reach 20M subs, it didn't kill WoW and every other MMO out there within weeks of release, it's wasn't the second coming of DAOC etc., in many ways it didn't really meet a lot more modest expectations for many reasons. I don't really see anyone disputing that.
Now take a step back and look at the present game without the preconceptions related to the hype at release
It's a good faction based MMO that performs well on most machines, it's a bit overpriced at $14.99 considering its current rather slow development cycle and slow CSR response but overall it occupies its niche under WoW fairly well. It's moving in a good direction, slowly getting even more RvR centric and will likely continue to improve for years to come, the only thing really stopping it from owning the fantasy PvP MMO franchise is the lack of a 3rd realm (and possibly falling into the gear trap to find an asian market). It didn't meet expectations but it's a good, fun game at present and should remain so barring any stupid moves by the devs (not impossible mind you, just impropable at this time).
why are we talking about the same thing over and over again? ok EA failed...WAR failed...the END...everyone want to write something about something that we already discussed over and over again...
Tormented echoes of a fallen Eden I longed for her beauty Yet from dust, she returned The dream, an enigma.... silent
Whats more amazing is that people who do not like the game, feel the need to keep coming back to slam it.. Get on with your life, its a video game..
Is the game perfect? No, Does it need work? yep. But for me, I like PvP, and currently, this is the best option I have. I could play Darkfall, and spend the next 4 -6 months, getting pummeled by vets..No thanks. I could play EvE, which I really love everything about the game but the combat, so here I am, until something better comes a long.
Yea, that makes me a die hard.
In a few months, I'll try Earthrise. If its better, guess what? I'll sub to that, and then perhaps I'll be a diehard Earthrise player?
Yes, we know Warhammer failed, we are told everyday on this forum, its a horrible game, no one is playing, its a barren wasteland. Theres no RvR, you level by PvE (alone), yes you are right. The game is a complete lagfest, and it hitches all day and i can't move 10' at a time. Despite this, I play it. I can't do anything, yet I pay $15 a month to play, I don't know why i do it....
If you want to complain about the endgame.. go ahead, I'll agree... If you want to complain about the overall lack of RvR content, All right.. But if you say the game is essentially unplayable due to lag or hitches, well i can't agree with that, as i don't have much problem with that at all.
I first started playing WAR when it first got released as i was bored with WoW and even on a Athlon x2 4400, 2 gb ram, Nvidia 8800GT (512mb), Win XP, 19" @ 1280x1024 - i had NO lag at all with the game engine, yea the servers were lagging a bit but i expected that, new release mmo and all, plus im running wireless so doesn't help but isn't a hindrance either. I've since upgraded my rig and decided to give WAR another go, i now have i7 920, 6gb ram, Radeon 5770 HD (1gb), Win 7, 22" @ 1680x1050 - again NO lag at all with the game engine. However the one time i did have slow down problems was when i forgot to put my Kaspersky into Gaming mode and it decided to do a scan LOL D'OH!
Unfortunately i've since stopped playing WAR again, servers are empty and typically as per most MMO's ppl just dont play together in RVR.. I was hoping that with the recent fixes it would have brought ppl back but seems to me that theyve fixed the game a year too late.. RIP WAR.

I am done you, this site, and its trolling community are not worth my time. Nothing but hatred, biased reviews, and trolls here.
I get a warning for defending the game against the like of you, while all day nothing but trolls come and bash it and its players, it makes me sick. I hope you and this site rots in hell.

Merlin, you are so full of it. Populations on all servers are going very well. As someone who has been playing WAR over a month now, I must say its a good alternative to WOW. I have had neither a problem finding a Warband nor being able to find a lively conversation in game.
I believe some of you posters here are just biased and do not want to see games like WAR having a very successful comeback. It should have a comeback! Why...? Look at who has taken charge! Bioware! Also if you really did play WAR you would know the statement you want us to believe is not true.
For future reference, go flame a game that really deserves being flamed. As of right now WAR does not!
Population's going soo very well, that one must think why every "new" player starts in same area now, why aren't there any open pvp or RP servers, why they cut off SCs instead of bringing new inovative SCs (Iron is crap and bugged - aoe heals anyone ), why are there only few servers left which are rarely ever above mid/mid at prime time... etc.

There are things negative with every game out there and with WAR at launch there were alot. Right now the game is really good in T1 to T3 but the campaign (still) needs fixing in T4.
However, population is not one of those problems like many people point out. The current servers are having good action almost all awake hours. So I assume several posters have not played WAR in quite some time (before they merged the servers properly).
