If you shoot an intruder in the back or drag them back into your house you will go on trial for 2nd degree murder. If you fail to kill them in your house and they do make it out alive the police will show up to your house when the robber goes to the hospital as they have to report all gun shot wounds. Once the police file a report you run the risk of being dragged to court and sued over the dmgs and lost wages the person you shot. Yes America has a messed up system, but it also prevents the obvious abuse of the system in many ways.

lol what?    my mom has personally shot someone breaking in to her house.  matter of fact she shot him 3 times twice in the back.  he managed to get outside. the cop shows up. says to me .. next time drag him inside so homicide detectvies dont show up.     true story.

nother true story.  i personally stabbed someone several time in the chest and back with a sword.  he ran away and went to the hospital.  the cops asked me to id him at the hospital.   he went to jail i didnt.

nother true story.   someone broke into my brothers car in front of us.  my brother stabbed him several times all over his body... guess who went to jail that night and later died?

Actually, incidents involving robbery or trespassing are usually thrown out with the the injured party having to pay legal fees. The exception to the case is the "Attractive Nuisance Doctrine", but this only effects children and does not cover adults.

There was a case in Milwaukee where a person attempts to sue the home owner he tried to rob for being shot, but the case is most likely to be thrown out.

The entire USA isn't to blame. It really depends on the state you're in. Some states have different laws.

As for the whole "Hot coffee" incident, yes, that did happen: Liebeck vs. McDonalds. She won over 2.9 million dollars.

And before someone says "Lol ;USA" The same thing happened in the UK where someone tried to sue McDonalds but they didn't win.

They can sue, they just shouldn't expect to win anything other than scorn because there is no law that says an entertainment company has to make their products accessible to anyone other than their target audience.

I'm not insensitive to people with disabilities, but if Game Maker X decides they don't want to fork over the extra cost, they don't have to.  It's called a free market.

Just so we're clear; these are good reasons why we should move to Louisiana?

Your hatred of SoE going beyond normal. You cannot make a single post on sony without showing it.This case was extremely pointless as there nothing SoE or any other gaming company can do to make it that blind can fully enjoy the gamer.Maybe when technology expands in 50 or so years .

Wtf, how the hell does something like this not simply get thrown out?  Absolutely ridiculous...

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
