Sleeper MMo int he making I think. if you loved Mythos then you will love Torchlight even more.
As the Single Play Version of Torchlight launching, many players are concerned about the release date of the MMO version and also the gameplay content of this anticipated game. MMOsite just took a pleasant talk with the developer Runic Games on queries above.
1?August 11, 2009 is your one year anniversary, Congratulations and Happy Belated Birthday! ^_^ Can you give us a summary of achievements for past year?
Thank you! We are so grateful to be here. Here's a good snapshot at our last year -
-August 11 2008: We become a company again as RUNIC GAMES and sign the employment papers! Travis gives us all gum, and we start working on a new game from scratch
-April 22 2009: Perfect World Entertainment announces they will publish our MMO. Rejoicing!
-June 2009: We have the opportunity to show at E3, the first time the game is shown to the public - and we win a Best of E3 award from RPGfan.com
-September 2009: We head into PAX with the game essentially being finished but for some nuts and bolts and bug checks! This is the home stretch! Everyone has butterflies!
These are just some big highlights - along the way, we acquired new team members who are not only highly talented but also great people. We celebrated our one year anniversary with a bar-b-que on a Seattle beach, and of course, we put a lot of love into Torchlight, every day.
2?It's been a year now. Can you leak some confidential information about Torchlight?
We have a nice fat announcement for you: We are pleased to officially announce that Torchlight will be available for box sales through our partnership with Encore! Torchlight will be in stores shortly after the New Year!
3?As far as I know you will build a single player game first and then following that with the MMO based on the same world and have a retail box for this. How much? When and where will it be released first?
This is really a two-part question, and I think I can clarify:
The MMO will be out approximately 18 months after the single player ships. The MMO will be free to play, with microtransactions available. We think that makes the most sense for our audience and that we can provide more options this way. It's also the model for all of Perfect World Entertainment's MMO's and we've seen people enjoy not having to pay subscription fees.
4?We know Torchlight will give a big surprise to modders that you will deliver some robust modding tools. Will the feedback from advanced modders appeared in future MMO? And how?
The exact same tools that we developed in-house for Torchlight will ship with the single player, in support of the modding community. We're looking forward to seeing the innovations that the modders come up with, but we're not planning to use any of their creations for the MMO - just too many legal gray areas. Knowing that doesn't diminish our enthusiasm for seeing the new mods though. Yay, show and tell!

Ok, so, it the MMO version still planned so long after the release of the solo mode?
If its anything like the Mythos beta then I am going to pass. That game was a disaster waiting to happen.
