DaregoDarego Member Posts: 13

well i got bored of an mmo i have been playin for nearly 8 years and some cool guy refered me to darkfall in my thread

http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/3433277/thread/271853#3433277

so i was wondering if anyone had any startin tips for me? and from what i can see darkfall is somewhat like age of conan in the way guilds can build their own fortresses (guildhalls) or am i wrong? (looked that way from the few youtube videos i watched)

thanks in advance

Basically, FFA PvP and sieges are the only similarities that DFO and AoC have.

    hi again ;p

Here is 1 of 4 videos that you must watch before starting (look for other in related videos):

    As for other tips:
Bank a lot! But after playing tibia you most likely know it...
Join NEW (that's a clan name) clan. This is clan for newbies to help them with game at start. If you will roll Wolf or Ork let me know in pm and you can join my clan ;p

There's really not much else to either of these games.

There's really no similarities between AOC and Darkfall.

In Darkfall, clans build entire cities....completely destructible and conquerable by other clans. There is no instancing, no special place to PVP, no limitations.

The meta-game is almost like a huge game of Risk, with clans and alliances taking and losing territory, and the politcal map changing almost daily.

And sieges actually WORK in Darkfall

Go to you tube and watch the accelerated guide for newbs . The UI sucks but if you can get passed that you are in for one hell of an exciting time.

My biggest concern about darkfall was.

    How Sieges are handled.

    How player owned cities operate

How ships and ship to ship fighting operate.

How swimming and water fighting would work.

I will say I was flat out impressed with all of the above.

Sieges are fun as hell. Player owned cities are AMAZING, Ship travel and ship fighting works very well and is FUN.

Swimming and pvp works extremely well.

I havent played a MMO that could do any of the above any good at all and some dont even offer all of the above options.

AoC is the worst PvP game on the market in my opinion. FFA PvP that isn't FFA but no one really does it anyway because everyone is bored in kesh or quit. Sieges are laggy bug fests full of glitches that no one plays either all instanced into the stone age because of lazy developers.

Darkfall is everything AoC was advertised to be but wasn't. If you're on EU-1 send me a pm and I can help you out.
