Hey guys I just recently downloaded the meter to see how my cpu are running and speedfan to know how hot those cpu are.
I have I7 920 @ 2.7ghz (8 cpu total)
16 gig DDR3 ram
nvidia GTX 260
window 7 premium
Is this normal?

The CPU is doing fine. I am just wondering what Temp1 is.
No idea what that is indicating tbh except it does not seem to be graphics or cpu.
You can always turn off your pc and open it, tthen touch the cooling blocks inside too see if they are hot. I would not worry unduly though, my motherboard told me it was at 130C once even though it was stone cold.
might be my old eyes but it's a bit too small to make out. CPU's look fine but i'm curious what temp1 is attaching itself to. If your really worried about CPU temp, see if your MB manufacturer has a utility to monitor that.
I7 are not 8 cpu core. they are 4 with hyperthreading, that's why you see 8 in Task manager
Considering the temps of the individual cores, I doubt temp 1 has anything to do with the CPU. Also considering the GPU temp and temp 2, I doubt it's an ambient temp. That really only leaves your HDD or motherboard unless I'm forgetting something (I don't think speedfan checks memory temps). Depending on the hardware manufacturer that temp could be fine. Though it looks like you're idling in that screenshot, my opinion would be that it is too high.
speedfan isnt perfect. It can only read what your motherboard sensors tell it to, and sometimes its not sure what these sensors are exactly due to the vast amount of different motherboards and sensors. By doing a quick google it seems that speedfan is giving some i7 users temp1 readings of 80c +, yet nobody can verify what temp1 is. More than likely, its bugged (which wouldnt be the first time speedfan has been buggy).
Id suggest getting Realtemp and doing some comparisons.

Dont use speedfan.
Try realtemp that shows the heat in a better way

I don't think you have anything to warry about except that Temp 1 and i would check to see if putting the mouse over would tell you which temperature it is indicating.... yet again even that is nowhere near as "warm" as my old computers' 96 degrees single core which resulted in my heatsing burning my hand when i tried to take it out to clean it. Yet again even that is working fine and has not given up on me yet so my mom is using it downstairs :P ... go Intel.
*FYI i did nearly faint when i saw that temp
As Rayxor has already mentioned, temp 1 is nothing to worry about. Speedfan can only read from sensors that exist on your hardware, if the sensor doesn't exist or differs enough for the software not to recognise it properly then it shows anomalous readings.
For example, one of my temperatures is -2C.
As for the core temps shown in the img, they are perfectly fine.
