Received a tip that there have been some layoffs at CME/Firesky, in addition to their payroll checks being weeks behind again.
Unearthing something substantial to back this up has not been fruitful. Maybe Aaron can send Tim another email?
However, many of the folks listed as working on SGR have updated their Linked In profiles with "looking for new opportunity" and the recommendations for co-workers are flying around. Shane gave recommendations for everyone working at CME/Firesky this past week – a little odd?
Just thought I would share You can’t get an MMO out with even less developers!

This would be interesting if true or even false. I don't want to constantly bug people at Firesky as I do have other things to do.
I believe there was news here a few days ago of CME filing for bankruptcy. I wouldn't be surprised to see layoffs after that.
I play in a sandbox.
I can confirm at least 3 were let go, one artist, one level designer, producer. There are more.
I can confirm too, there has indeed being layoffs in CME/Firesky.
Getting reports that up to 70% of the staff was let go from Firesky/CME. This was after long crunch hours on SGR and not being paid.
Too bad for the workers, I suppose, but one should not be surprised when one is cheated, when the company is started/run by a crook.
I guess the moral of the story is, be careful when working for a shady company.
Then again, after the company was not paying their people for however long before, the employees should probably have known better.
To Ciaran:
The staff at CME/Firesky has been drastically cut, leaving a tiny development team to work on SGR and man the office.
Read between the lines!
Have a nice day
