what do you mean become? may i ask if you've tried games like anarchy online, eve online or dungeons and dragons online? currently having fun in neocron 2 myself aswell

i hadn't heard of nc2 either and came accross it by accident, guess the best way i could describe it without going into detail would be an fps anarchy online
bit empty and unloved atm though, however this means that it is free for the moment(forums post states that they are going to bring it more up to date once black prophecy is released)
one thing i will say is that nc2 has a nice actual virtual world to explore which makes a pleasant change from the usual 'play area' style games

Yeah... I want a game that can give me a sense of accomplishment... and a sense of personal identity. I'm tired of being able to do the same thing as everyone else, and looking the same as everyone else, with the same armor and the same weapons, same, same, same, same... It's the drawback of most MMO's, I find.

Ya know, I stared this thread with the question " What do you want from a game" and 9 out of 10 of the responses were either Try this (low budget indie) game, or "TROLL TROLL u suck TROLL TROLL...
I want to know what other people want out of a game.
My friends and I are looking for something along the same lines. I just want to know if there are others out there looking for the same thing. It looks like there are more people interested in on line trolling than people interested in a high difficulty MMO.

Sure bud what type of game are you looking for? I do nothing but play sandbox/ oldschool mmos.
I still hop on the old ones, EQ, DAOC, AC. Looking for a new "old" game .
If you still visit those games you may like Vanguard. We really have no bleeding edge Hardcore Class based games. last one released was Vanguard.
If your looking for some more of a sandbox experience, no classes and good communities Your best bet right now are Ryzom and Fallen Earth. You probably gave DF a shot already but if not toss that one up there also.
If your a visitor to this site like I am you probably tried these games already but MMOs change and evolve overtime so if its been more than a year since you played games like vanguard and Ryzom you may be pleasantly surprised. if you give them another spin.
You may also want to check out some emu projects or Privi servers of certain games.
