The Health of gamers

I have noticed a lack of happiness on the forums and have discovered the answer. IT IS YOUR HEALTH!!!

To get the most out of your gaming experience you need to be healthy. Gaming IS healthy but you need to look after other aspects of your health if you are to be happy with all that gaming and Life has to offer.

The solution to you health problems is simple; drink lots of water, get some excercise and eat a healthy diet, then you will be as right as rain.

I know this will help. Peace out!!!

No, it's just the good games are old and the new games suck.  We need Everquest Next or Cataclysm to come out.

I have to agree with this out of experience.

When i go to bed early and eat properly i enjoy my games a lot more.

It's because I'm generally in a better mood when i get enough sleep, making good games more enjoyable, and bad games more bearable.

we have the most fun in EVE flying drunk in fleets while having a drunk pissed off Irishman as FC and a scout passed out after his computer while being in the pub all night.

Nothing beats that, not even drinking water and running to the toilet every 10 mins because of it.

I find it quite intresting to see a post giving advice - without talking about actual WORK.   Best way to stay healthy is actually to have a balanced life where you not only eat healthy - drink healthy and get a good sleep.  The most important thing is that you also have a job instead of taking social security money (sadly alot of MMO gamers seems to count on these to pay their MMO bill) and have a good relationships with other REAL ppl (instead of pvping nubs in a game).  I personally consider MMOs to be the perfect tool for the no lifers to even have less of a life.

I have been there - I desided it wasn't worth it.

My advice is for ppl to realsise that noone will remember an avatar in 10 years time when the game has shut down.   But there will be quite a lot of ppl that will remember a real life looser who played his life away in a computer game - instead of taking care of things that really mattered.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

You need to read my post today called 'Games ARE real life'. Work most often times makes you UNhealthy, play on the other hand is healthy.

    [mod edit]

What have you got against Me moderators? Do you have no life? You need to get one.

Yeah I drink Water and Green tea, eat dried fruit and Nuts as a snack and on downtimes I hit up P90x For my workouts.

I'm so cut up and healthy since coming back to mmos that you would never think i sat in front of my PC 20+ hours a week.

Health is very important and its helped that I found a few games that dont make me a angry bastard on these forums.

Can a healthy diet be crafted, or is it avaliable in an item shop?

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

I'm unhappy, I work out 3-5 times a week, eat 6-8 small, healthy "meals" a day, drink lots of water, only 1 soda a day.

I have to be healthy or I lose my job!

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

What you need is to start eating junk food, start being lazy, sleeping alot, playing mmos until sunrise etc. and most importantly of all getting a job that works well with the aforementioned. That will make you happy.

Lots of water means 6 litres a day and there is nothing wrong with have the occasional lemonade or ginger beer, fruit juice or even flavoured milk, green tea etc.

I would say you should cut down to 2-3 meals a day and make them healthier. You can contact Me if you want to know what a MORE healthy diet is - I have a website. You can snack on chocolate and chips if you like ( not necessarily every day) and you need variety in your diet. I am an expert on the subject, McDonalds is even OK.

Here is my website address anyway, http://buddhaneoscompletehealthandfitness.blogspot.com/

I have read that gamers are in general healthier than the average due to knowledge of foods. However, this is countered by my run ins on vent with " MMM I GOT MY TACOBELL AND GALLON OF NON-DIET SODA HERE"

I exercise, get plenty of sleep, and eat obsessively healthy on the other hand.

Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.

    I hope he is.

3 meals a day is not ideal, a small, healthy "meal" every 3 hours is best. Some oats and fruit for breakfast, maybe an apple or pear a couple of hours later, salad for lunch, possibly with ham or chicken, some trail mix a few hours later, then possibly some pasta for dinner is a good day.

Edit: Also, McDonald's is never OK. I quit eating fast food, I broke down and went to McDonald's in a hurry one day a little over a month into it, I got so sick I couldn't finish it.

Yah but just because people play MMOs doesnt mean they have no life, and im not saying u said that. But yah. I do agree that alot of losers spend all there money on games because they think it will make them be "remembered".

It sure is their health! As a gamer, I know from my younger days if I sat in from the Pc and did a lot of gaming during the week, I'd normally feel very aggressive and grumpy. People wonder why MMO communities can be so grumpy, the answer is simple, it's mood affected by too long periods or even days in a row sitting at a Pc gaming.

The more hardcore the player the more snappy grumpy defensive aggressive attitude your likely to encounter from them. Those who learn to balance gaming and physical exercise and eating properly loose the aggression.

What isn't healthy is the current obsession with what is healthy and what is not, quite apparent in your post.

As for the topic... there are those that play MMO's because of their health too.

You know what else makes people happy, boobies.

I tend to believe that heavy MMO play and boobies do not go hand and hand.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

    --John Ruskin

Sex, drugs and rock n roll are the keys to happiness.

“There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.”
    -- Herman Melville
