this thing is a hog on the system. it will need more than that. plus given you have 1gb of ram, and using xp. the rest of your system isn't that great either...
My guess is that you can always try, but running it with 1gb ram will ruin your experience.
Is it possible to run the game with 1gb of memory on XP?
Sorry as a gamer I see 1gb to be good for just your common xp stuff like internet and email, get atleast a minimum of 2gb for gaming purpose, just my opinion, regardless what game you want to play.
RAM: 3 GB for XP, 4 GB for Vista, 3 GB for Windows 7
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800GTS, ATI Radeon 3870
RAM (dedicated): 512 MB
They aren't kidding about RAM. The game code, all by itself, can regularly take 1.7 GB just for itself, much less the other stuff running on your system. If you lack RAM, you will constantly be disk swapping to cache, and this will slow your game down drastically.
The video ram limits are serious, too. In fact, the game can use as much as 700 megs of video ram, or even a bit more, if you have it, and will try to.
The graphics requirements are actually that high?!?!
I remember beta testing with 2gb of RAM on vista with my 256mb radeon and it ran fine on medium settings. Never any system lag (server lag was a different story lol). Must of been alot of graphic updates or something.....

That's why it was called a BETA.
GFX has been completely overhauled just before release. And has been some minor improvements since then, too.
