You have no baseline to appraisal of virtual items, an inherently subjective and personal question, between vastly different games no less. Try defining a reasonable price of a bunny outfit in Hello Kitty Online and how it compares to a +20% xp potion in Allods Online, yeah good luck with that.
Hmm how much is the bunny outfit worth for me... what about a prepubescent child in Bangalore... hmm
You may be able to look at a cash shop item and conclude that its outrageously overpriced, but how do you go about to quantify that ?
I'd rather see a study about the average time that F2P players stick to a game, the progress they made in the game, and the money spent. With coloured lines a pie graphs please
Im quite sure that for the freeloaders the 3 lines (time playing, money spent and progression) would be really short likewise Im sure that for HIGH spenders, the "money spent" line would always follow the progression line, or even lead the graph.
free games heh
What's wrong about "High Spenders" spending on the game they like? It's the same as P2P gamers paying monthly subs for the game they like. As for "Freeloaders", many are game jumping. They don't have to drop a single penny before they find their "top game".
Beside, there's a lot of "P2P Gamers" game hopping too. How often do you see threads like "I've played WoW, Aion, WAR, AoC, DAoC, Vanguard, EQ, EQ2, EVE, DarkFall, Mortal Online, Fallen Earth.....what now?"

Hrm. What exactly do you want to study then?
And if it interests you, why don't you do such a study yourself and offer your result to the public?
What is it that you seek exactly to know?
Still, should take quite some work to do an analysis of 10+ F2P MMOs just to prove the obvious - you pay to achieve.

I would not finance a study that is utter ridiclious and I need that money to spend it on some f2p casshops BURN.

What abusive cash shops? Most f2p players don't pay a dime and you can always switch game if you don't like the prices.
