Looking for a great game.

Well I'll put it this way.

~I want a game where there are people still leveling up, so something not super old.

~Genre doesn't matter to me so fantasy is perfectly fine.

~Monthly fee is alright too.

~Group play is encouraged. I want to group up.

~Graphics are medium to high range. (pc is getting up there in years)

~Diverse grouping of classes. (I like to tank but I want to try something new)

------------------------------------

I have played these games a lot: FFXI (favorite mmo), WoW, Aion, Champions Online, AoC, Tabula Rasa (i wish this wasn't gone).

I have played these games a little: Vanguard, EQ, EQ2, CoX, Allods, Perfect World, Atlantica, Ragnarok, LoTRO, SWG (pre and post NGE), EVE, Guildwars, Lineage 2, Exteel, Fallen Earth.

-------------------------------------

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

    To be honest...

    There's nothing.

nonetheless, there's no other mmos that is good, than those you have tried already, and they aren't great either.

Wait for Earthrise (2010 Q2/3) SWTOR(2011 early)FFXIV(2011 Early) and APB maybe, if you like GTA crime kind of MMO, Q3 of 2010 (prob released in 2011) and the sercret world (2012 aproxamately) TERA is a good choice maybe, but ill wait and check it out, it may be its way too much asian grind : )

But honestly, theres nothing - Im sure someones gonna ask you to try like :

Darkfall its hardcore PVP ffa loot, and i honestly dont recommend it unless your super PVPer.. im PVE/bit PVP and i dont like it

Ryzom very low pop, but good game, i just dont like a game with 1 k sub only : )

You could give DDO a try if you dont mind instancing. Always alot of people leveling up since the re-release and very grouping dependant.

11 classes with multi classing and alot of different ways to build your character. Since you liked Tabula rasa you may enjoy the fast twitch based combat aswell.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

I tried DDO once, was not a fan at all. I tried it about 3 months ago, forgot to add it to my list.

Are there really no decent games around?

Are there really no decent games around? unfortuanately not it seems

apart from ddo i have copies of neocron 2 and anarchy online installed to muck about with

since you've played wow you know what most current games have to offer

other than that you could try the 1$ trial for darkfall.  I would wait a while before trying MO though

games I'm watching are perpetuum, earthrise and black prophecy.  No idea if they'd suit you since they aren't out yet though:)

also what may interest you are guild wars 2 and the new ff mmo when they are released

Swtor is likely to be a mix of wow style gameplay with ddo level of instancing so not sure if you'd like that

I have been a pretty harsh critic of a lot of the crap games recently.  I did the Fallen Earth trial and tons of research and thought I might not like it.  I really wanted another MMO to take a break from BFBC2 this weekend, so since it was on sales for 50% off on their website, I said what the hell, and bought it.  The graphics on max are pretty nice, and I got used to the animations which are fine, both of which are apparently being improved, much like Darkfall did.  The world has an awesome post-apocalyptic feel, and the music with sounds at night are engaging and fun.

I found the game play to honestly be really fun, and I found myself laughing out loud at bashing some mob with a 2by4 for a top scoring head shot lol.  I am really enjoying it a ton more than I ever thought.  Once you get in to this game and see some of the subtle cool things, like being able to head shot with a golf club, it is really very, very fun.

I highly recommend giving FE at least the 10 day free trial, or just buy it on sale.

Hated FE. I didn't like the way it looked, probably my pc's fault. It was also pretty boring. I had a friend of mine try it too and he came to the same conclusion. BFBC2 is fun, I got it on ps3 though.

anyway, i agree with izork, as for now, there isn't anything that is really new and fit your category

so if you want something that is not old or new fresh MMO, they are just around the corner

this year itself, there will be around 3 good MMOs, FFXIV, Earthrise and Xyson

    So What Now?

Anarchy Online meets your criteria except for graphics. There's supposed to be a new graphics engine coming out but they've been promising that for a long time now. It's old but there's always people leveling up, just make sure you go on the more populated server. Also, it has a free version and there's no need to subscribe until the higher levels.
