Hey everyone,
I would like to know how much better this card is:

than this card:

I kind of want to get one or the other as soon as possible--so any timely answers would be MUCH appreciated
Thanks to everyone in advance

Obviously the first card. More video RAM and higher [much higher] clock speed.

I also vote FIRST one
Actually both cards have 256 MB RAM, but Radeon 9800 is still better than 9600, no matter how you look at that.
Sapphire is one of the best ATI-based card manufacturers, as far as I know.
Thanks for the replies!
I kind of assumed that the 9800 was the better card, but when looking over the specs for each...they both seemed to advertise the same features.
Not being too savvy on video cards, I thought I'd ask
This technically-inept gamer is much obliged
I find it amusing that you think the 9600 is better, but whatever. Bottom line is that the 9800 is going to be a lot faster and more productive than the 9600, providing better shading and better overall performance.

Hmm..I don't think anyone said the 9600 was better...
Anyway, I went with the 9800

The R9800 (Apr 2003) is a 256bit shader2, 325MHz, 19GB/s bandwidth gpu.
The R9600 (Mar 2003) is the nurfed 128bit , 325MHz, 6GB/s version, shader2.
The Nvidia GF6600gt (Sept 2004) is a 128bit shader3, 500MHz, 16GB/s pci-express SLI capable, agp due later.
2004 was the year of the GF6 series after the dismal failure of their FX models. Since most gamers consider the $100 to $200 their sweet spot for component upgrade, the $400 and $500 gpu are just not worth that expense.
well, since the gf 6600gt i got was only 198 dollars i guess it wouldnt fall into the 400 to 500 doallar thing, now would it...and its agp
