ThomasN7ThomasN7 87.18.7.148Member CommonPosts: 6,690

I had Dragon Age on my 360 but since I got rid of my 360 I have 2 choices, either the PS3 or the PC.  What do you guys think ?

    PC

Even the reviews seem to favor the PC.

wasnt there some kind of delay with releases on the ps3? personally i'd say the pc is the best option, if you have a decent pc that is, though, dragon age: origins, imo, is one really boring game, nice graphics though.

Yea I would go with the PC..the controls on the 360 are horrible.

PC all the way on this game.  Better controls, framerate, graphics, etc if you can handle it.  Bored the bejesus out of me in the long run, but still better on PC.

  • zinkerzzinkerz Member UncommonPosts: 174

oh yea and the mods for PC are nice.

With that last patch for the PC it made the game for a lot of people unplayable.

Terrible FPS slowdown....numerous CTDs...some sort of memory leak that they haven't nailed down (makes the game unplayable after about 2 hours)....horrid loading times...DLC content missing or bugged to hell.

I've shelved mine until they come out with another patch to fix all that crap.

Agree, try Risen or Witcher instead.

This too.  Risen is a much better game.  It's a little rougher around the edges, but infinitely more fun.

its the DLC in DA:O that really annoys me, how Bioware is trying to milk this game for as much as they can, is, very dissapointing, Bioware has gone down a lot in my estimation, their not the same company that they used to be, and their games just dont seem to be as good either, somewhere along the way they dropped the ball, and became more business orientated than game orientated, i wonder if this is how Cryptic ended up being in the state they currently are tbh.

Witcher is awesome. I liked dragon age though. Maybe because I'm a bioware fanboi.

If you have a good pc go for it.

Why in god's name would you want to do that?

Otherwise, get it for PC, the platform it was made for. Console ports can't really contend, and it's nost just a matter of UI changes.

    Hmmm,

I would recommend a Single Player gaming Forum.

This is for MMO's, not Single Player games. Sorry, can't help you. Good luck. :)

There are hundreds of games that blow DA out of the park, and they are cheap.

One being Dead Space. $20 new.

Don't be ignorant. Everyone knows MMOs these days are heavly solo until the end game.

I think D2 is more of a MMO than most games listed on this website.

    PC,

DAO is a pure PC title, console versions are a pain to play

No, the industry isn't the same industry you're remembering. Even Bethesda went the DLC route with both Oblivion and Fallout3. Like six bucks for simple horse armor? Just about every single title on consoles has DLC, DA:O isn't some annomally, nor is Mass effect one and two. It's what everyone is doing today, every single publsiher.

TBH I prefer it, for the purpose of adding more re-playability. A few years ago the only hope for this was through player made mods. I'd be as gitty as a school girl, if Bioware made some DLC for the PC version of KOTOR.

If you don't want the DLC don't buy it, problem solved.

This forum is not for MMO's only, it's the general gaming forum. There already is a forum for MMO's and it's been here since MMORPG.com started.  I would guess, however, that almost all members who post here are knowledgeable about and have played MMO's.

Sure, if you ignore one little detail --- it has nothing in common with DA:O so it's not like you can compare them. Seriously.

I recently finished Awakenings for the 2nd time. Doesn't disappoint.

    Three things to remember:

    1. After you complete Origins you can continue from the post-win save and complete any sidequests and/or DLC content before you import into Awakenings. You can import from any post-win save.

    2. When you import, you lose anything on other characters or (if you have it) in the Warden's Keep chest. You only keep your cash, and (most of) the things in your inventory.

    3. Not all Origins DLC items import into Awakenings. Be careful not to import nekkid with an empty inventory. Unless you're a mage, I suppose.

Maybe you guys can help me. I just bought the deluxe edition from steam but from my understanding wasn't I supposed to get the dlc for free since I paid extra ? It is telling me I need Bioware points to buy Wardens Keep, Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar. I did get my blood dragon armor though!
