I received this email today from an address that tried to mimic NCSoft customer support. I haven't played Aion in months and my account has been long inactive. If you are going to try to scam people, at least learn how to type coherent sentences using proper english.
If you are a current subscriber to this game, be on the look out.

I don't even own an Aion account and every email I use received one of these phishing mails today.
lol they got the gold farmers sorted out in Aion but now their trying to hack accounts on the outside...Aion is by far the worst gold farmers/ hackers paradise that I've seen unfortionately.
"I play Tera for the gameplay"
No worse than WoW, I have been off WoW for a year and still receive these types of emails atleast twice a month
Played: World of Warcraft (5Y), WarHammer (3M), Anarchy Online, Runescape (5+Y), Lord of the Rings Online, Runes of Magic, City of Heroes/Villains, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Fallen Earth (1M)
Currently Playing: Guild Wars
Currently Trying: None
Taking a Break From: EVE Online
I have been getting emails for AION and WOW like mad the last few weeks. Have never played AION and have not played WoW in over 6 months.
Wonder how many people fall for these types of scams. Never would I follow a link in an email but I am in the IT field so I know better.
Sooner or Later
If anyone falls for that e-mail they deserve to get hacked. That was clearly written by someone with English as a second or third language. There's no way NC Soft would have someone who doesn't even understand the language write a warning email like that. Not to mention certain things they would have capitalized, i.e. the name of their game. Still, the links do look convincing.
Aye, have been getting flooded with Aion emails (dont even own the game) as well as WoW emails (which go to every email address but the one I used when I created my account...)
Its kinda funny because a lot of them are just so poorly done that it looks like my 5 year old is typing these things....
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
they are right thier acct will be banned in 72 hours and they need yours so they can keep playing lol
and whats more is thats why they were banned lol
I receive both Aion (which makes sense as I'm subscribed to it) and WoW phishing e-mails. I'm not subbed to wow at all.

Same here getting lots of these phising mails these days for WoW + Aion.
It started with one of these mails the OP got, but recently the subject of those mails is mostly about "recent changes to your account"
Well just check the links in the mail and or the sender of the mail and you're save.
Sorry for my english
This is some poor engrish. Even if English aint my first language, I can clearly see that the mail isnt in good english.
Also, they might have spoofed the mail address, I think if you check properly, you will see something like aion7845@hotmail.com.
Rule number one: in any online game ADMIN WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD
Rule number two (general): Never type your password in any page that you are not 100% sure.
Rule number three: FIREFOX!!!!
Opera
And some rule that applies to all the people not living in the US or UK like me : NCsoft/Blizzard won't send you an email in english but in your language, at least when it comes to germany. Dunno how the handle regions with a lower marketpriority.
Another "Rule" at least for Aion is : genuine supportmails have your accountname written in it
Sorry for my english
I actully got a email like that a week ago but was about Tabula Rasa, and that game has been dead for months.

More like a year now lol...
I get WoW phishing e-mail many times a week. it's annoying.
I got one today saying my account will be banned because of spamming of chat lines....Please log on to NCSoft support and correct the problem * fake ncsoft-support link attached*.
Ignored
Side note: I quit Aion and my account expired 5 days ago
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Yeah, I've been getting these for a couple months now. One of them were funny though. Because the email said it was for AION, and in the body the spam bot had messed up, which resulted in a combination of AION and WoW in a single email. That was funny stuff!
How dumb can they be?
i also got the same e-mail. The thing i'm wondering is how they got my mail address. I try to use my actual e-mail address for "legit" sites.
I need more vespene gas.
If they ask you to log in. Go to there website and log in. Do not use links in mails though. Even if you sure the mail is legit. Better save then sorry!Originally posted by tcosaddict
For every person who write such a mail there are loads more who are just as bad or worse in English as they are. For them this could be proper English as they do not understand English that well. So do disagree that they deserve it.
I receive these 3 times a wekk and I ve never played WoW...lol
anyway you can see in most of these mails...sentences dont make any sense

Where do they have the e-mails from?
My last NCgame I played at least 1 year ago, and I never played and never owned Aion. Guildwars I played 500 years ago, when it released.
Yet I received fakemails for Aion, Guildwars and WoW. To be honest I would exclude WoW, since I think Blizzard know, what they do. They might sent a WoW-mail because almost everyone who plays MMOs, played WoW.
And why Aion + Guildwars and not CoX or Lineage 2?
I don´t even use Addons for WoW. I read Aionsource a few times, but not registered there.
I just received a similiar email.
What I want to know is where on earth these spamming and phishing 'ggots got my email from. I'm REALLY careful about only giving my main email address to legit sites but it ALWAYS seems to end up on some spam email list, eventually. Annoys the hell outta me.
I too just got my first scam email. if any of you guru's could give me some idea's how these douche bags got my email address? Haven't played since beta and never joined any aion websites. Only thing that comes to mind is that they some how have access to NCSoft on the inside.
This is the worse case of hacking incidents that I have ever seen...My account was reccently hacked I was notified by a legion member that told me that my account which was inactive while I was away at college was online but unresponsive. In several attempts to get ahold of NCsoft about this situation have failed badly
They sent me a e-mail requesting information about my accounting including keys in which I received for the game and such however, I pre ordered the game online and so the only place to access the CD key is to log into the account...which i obviously can't do.
It's a huge mess and the worse part about it they will not close the account. They continue to let the person who's hacked my account play no doubt boting or who knows....
Number one rule, never use hyperlinks in emails. tbh, i automatically delete all emails with attachments too. and, once a week, carry out a complete virus scan of your computer with an online virus scanner, housecall, is my own personal choice, i also use avg antivirus, but as no single antivirus program is 100 percent effective, its best to use at least 2 .. and the next is... change your passwords on a monthly basis.. or less if your paranoid like me
I'd love to meet the person who fell for that email. I really hope no one did. My faith in humanity is already pretty low.
