I believe it would be more of a naval/pirate theme, judging by the screen which is always welcome

I can read Japanese. But I haven't played this game.So there may be some wrong information. And my English is poor,so it may be hard to read.

I read reviews of closed beta players , and felt it like UO.
The game has Lvl based progression system which is mixed with skill system.,for example geography,fishing,explore,survive,etc..etc...
    You can play as a pirates,a trader,a explorer,an accountant,a solder,etc.....
And it seems be easy to solo levieling.

KOEI!!!  (Or KUEI, I always confuse both)

    I wish I was speaking Japanese...or they english/french!

Damn, if the game is good enought we will get an english version in a year or 2...to long a wait!

The setting may be similar to the setting of Seven Sea, but there I am purely guessing(Five Ring with some modifications).  Seven Sea was cool as well.

I am glad to help you,Bbking::::28::

    Yes,KOEI!
It was a surprise to me that you know KOEI.

Seven Sea? Sorry,i dont know. Is it a book?
The title of this game means the historical period where many adventurers ,likeColumbus,Vasco da gama etc, were active.

Especially about this game, people of various countries make it fun,I think so. Even language barriers become RP::::35::
So an english version will be more enjoyable!!

When is the game gonna be open for playing?
  • BbKingBbKing Member Posts: 15

The game looks a lot like Lineage II but with a naval twist.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the open beta begins on March 11?

Anyone got to play it yet, if so share your opinions>>>

You can login and play this now. It looks pretty fun but I can't read most of the commands so it's hard for me to do anything ::::11:: It does look a lot like Lineage II graphics and it is also point and click movement. There are a lot of people playing and the oceans are full of ships.

For those that have no understanding of any japanese heres a more concise signup guide

    STEP ONE: GameCity Registration
    1) Go to http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/kiyaku/gc1.pl and click on the blue button.
    2) Type in your email address and click the button.
    3) Check your email address and click on the button on the right to confirm.
    4) Now check your email account and click on the first link you see.
    5) You must now fill in the form. The details, from top to bottom are:
    - Full Name (In Roman letters or Kanji)
    - Password
    - Confirm Password
    - Male/Female
    - Birthdate: Year/Month/Day
    - Gamecity Newsletter: Yes/No
    - Information about games you play: Yes/No

The next section is optional. The fields are:
    - Furigana Full Name (In hiragana)
    - Handle/Nickname
    - PostCode (You must use a real Japanese postcode)
    - Prefecture and City
    - House Address

    6) Confirm your details by clicking on the button on the right.
    7) You're registered! Note down your UserID. It will also be in an email you will receive shortly.

    STEP TWO: Uncharted Waters Registration
    1) This one's easy. Go to http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/servlet/DOLWinTrialAccount and click on the button.
2)Click on the link in the email you'll receive, input an optional account name into the clear box, then click the button at the bottom. You must do this quickly, as the email will be valid for a very short period of time.
    3) If it asks you to login, use the UserID you just received.
    4) Done!

    STEP THREE: Uncharted Waters Download
    1) Go to http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/dol/trial/win_account03.htm and click on the big yellow button halfway down the page.
    2) The installer downloads. Open it, and specify where you'd like it to download the installation files to. I recommend a temporary directory somewhere in My Documents.
    3) Sit back. It'll take a while to download everything. Once it's finished, doubleclick on the installation file and install the game.

Here are some quotes of the gameplay and features from a forum in gamespot.

"It runs, and very well too! No Japanese proxy is needed (yet, at least). The tutorial room is quite self-explanatory... just go and talk to the NPC and basically do what the on-screen prompts show. Graphically, I think it's excellent - and I haven't tried sailing yet! There are loads of people and you really do get the impression you're in a bustling port, full of life and variety. Now I need to work out how to start sailing...

The interface should be quite simple to understand, the only thing that you must know before playing is how to quit - it's the right-most button on the top right, last option. DO NOT click on the first option unless you want to call a GM - and if they find you're not Japanese they will most likely ban you. Also, it's not a good idea to chat in english for the same reason. I'm not sure what Koei's policy is on foreigners playing at this stage, but usually they don't want foreigners in open betas."

"To sail: talk to the man near the docks. Not the one near the ship under construction, they serve to repair and upgrade your ship. Go through all of the man's options, and he'll stop talking to you. Talk to him again, click on the button which appears, and... happy sailing!"

"Yep, I was able to figure out sailing awhile back and managed to engage some npc for some cash. Yet in the waters im just clueless where to go.So far from what I see, just the three basic classes of trader, mapmaker, privateer im guessing? with the associated guilds.Theres basic features such as selling your own goods, banks, storage, npcs that sell the goods you use to trade, character animations (I like /toast) and much more.I've still yet to figure out where to buy some things, manage my ship's inventory and crew, manage my skills, and how to actually form a party? I wonder if theres any more english speaking players..."

Thanks a lot. That's quite interesting actually. But I'm still looking forward to Pirates of the Burning Seas.
  • BbKingBbKing Member Posts: 15

Hey, choco, I have a question:

Where do I buy new languages to get into new ports such as Turkey etc...

Otherwise the game is pretty much self explanatory with the exception of quests, of course.

    Cheers
