Middle Mouse Button

When I subbed to AOC back in the day I found that the middle mouse button could not be bound to anything...did they eventually fix this, would be good to know as I am considering re-subing, but I use the middle mouse for movement...if I cant use it...it throws me off.  This has been the only game that does not allow it.

It is still that way, all the 'extra' mouse buttons are hard coded to autorun.  It is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen and despite a great many improvements in the game is remains an indicator of just how many issues remain.

It seems the only way to tell them how this needs to be fixed is to sub and go onto their forums.

At the time some people suggested installing software that comes with some mice to bind keys...why should I have to do this, its just a simple middle mouse button...sigh.

There is this thread on the boards from way back, and there are others even longer.  They most certainly know about this issue - as they do about others.  I think they just had to spend so much time on other crap with this game that the normal polish that gets done post live gave way to actually finishing making the game.

When it comes to AoC you just got to accept the rough edges - kind of like the IP, the game has some harsh elements but once you let go of that there is some good gaming there and they have made lots of progress from launch.

    Wow.

THANK GOD for my logitech. I can map anything that I want.

I feel for you guys though, not being able to map my mouse how I wanted would actually be a deal-breaker for me.
