Teala, this is a bit offtopic here. Since Activision will ask Bungie to make another million generic FPS's halo clones. Halo4 , Halo5 another game like halo, another fps, a TPS.. etc... Is just a "blockbuster" maker contracting a groups of guys to produce 10 years of generic crap.
That includes the release of an online game based on Halo Universe. Read it here. <<<< clicky
Could have sworn that when they split with MS there was an agreement that the rights for Halo and all related games would stay with MS, not Bungie.
According to that article they are talking about a whole new IP that has nothing to do with the Halo IP.
I could be wrong though...

As Bungie make games for console mostly - the ports i've seen to PC dont seem that.. good... so could it really just mean that their moving into the console market, rather than bringing more games into the PC one.. i dont really see this as being any good for the PC really, and if Activision Blizzard is shifting its focus from the PC to the Console.. doesnt that mean that things are actually getting worse ?
Worst case scenario a few years down the road they make a great IP game then Activision fires the founding members of Bungie then everyone from Bungie gives them the middle finger kinda of what like Infinity Ward did.

The problem for Activision in this case would be that this is just a publishing deal. They haven't bought Bungie or anything and as such should have no control over who gets the boot.
everything that Activision touches goes to hell bye bye bungie
Awww.... Not looking forward to 'Shalo: Modern Warfare 4'?

This is great news, especially if they transfer Ghostcrawler over to the new development team. That way, he can bring his special "magic" to a completely new project instead of mucking up one people have been contentedly playing for 5 years.

Activision could use some good press considering how the Infinity Ward fiasco is exploding in their faces. Signing a deal with Bungie is a pretty good step. Most gamers are familiar with Bungie and generally have a high opinion of Halo.
Pretty sure MS retains rights to Halo. Besides which Bungie has stated the upcoming Halo game would be the last from them.

Halo will never die now. NEVAR!

FYI, Microsoft will own the rights to the Halo franchise after Halo: Reach, so don't expect to see anymore Halo games from Bungie.

So lets see..
Infinity Ward (Call of Duty), Bungie (Halo), and Blizzard all under Activision? Ya, where do I purchase stock in Activision?
