How bad is Perfect World cash shop?

This company generally provide a decent cash shop (i.e. primarily cosmetic, non-game breaking items)? Or does this company jack you?

havent made my mind yet!i had a sin in the new race lvl 20 some but pwi erased my toon
dont they keep the higher lvl toon of each account ,i had to reinstal os for security issue
and lo and behold my toon wasnt there,i think this might be a cs store option and they only save toon to your hard drive but since i dont know pwi that much im not sure!
I played PWI almost to end game when it came out.
This is an extreme grinder post about lvl 60.
Cash shop items such as HP and MP charms and EXP scrolls, while not REQUIRED are really pretty much required.
Same with the better flying mounts and riding mount are all cash shop.
People are always selling cash stop goods for in game gold though, so if it's in the cash shop, you can get it the "hard way" by earning the money and buying it from a player.
They said in a video interview that the cash shop would NOT be pay for power, or pay to win.
Right the dev diary did say that NA cash shop was not going to be pay for power/win.
As to the prices we won't have definitive answers on that until OB starts as anything in CB is open to adjustment.

Try doing a massive PVP fight without HP/MP charms
In PVE you can grind it out with no cash shop, just 100X more slowly,
in PVP, it's pay2win
(In regards to PWI that is, and they've kept the same basic model in their other games)
No offense, but isn't taking the devs word for what a cash shop is or isn't incredibly naive?
If the devs tell clearly that it's only cosmetic items, then it would hold a little credibility. But no matter how required or overpowering cash shop items are, doesn't practically every dev make it sound like they are only optional items? They are trying to make money, and it's in their intrests to reveal customers that cash-shop items are needed only after the customer has been hooked to the game.

so that max level 3 month ago if you didnt use it its probably not there anymore if you reinstalled your os!

Also: i logged in about 2 weeks ago after not logging in for almost a full year, and my lvl 90 was still there.
i guess its because i reinstalled my os then!
if u played during alpha or closed beta, possibly even open beta, they do delete everyone's characters. but in a live environment they do not delete characters. characters are not stored on your hard drive as that would lead to cheating.

Just so I can say: You are misinterpreting.
"Perfect World" talked about here is the COMPANY (Perfect World Entertainment) which released PWI(Perfect World International), the game and which is going to release the Battle of Immortals, the mmoArpg in question.
The question is overall quality shop quality through all PWE released games.
And the developers did state that the BoI cash shop in English version will be more for cosmetic purposes, not to mention the salary system which basically awards you cash shop money fro playtime.

item shop is huge in BoI, they might say its only cosmetics.. but its not.. half of the game is about fortifying your gear.. fortifying your pets.. enchanting gemming.. i mean there so much of that.. that it makes you sick..
if you thought that in wow.. after new gear thing you had to .. enchant.. then gem.. you got whole new thing comming in BoI, biggest problem.. you cant get those things for free.. some of cashop items you can get in events.. which either is one a day.. or one a week.. and with low change drop..
early quests provide some things to buff/upgrade your gear/pet/mount.. but they usually provide 1/10 of what you actually need.. for example game have huge emphasis on pets.. ( almost any creep can be captured as pet ) so you feel like.. you want to upgrade your pets offten.. just experiment.., well either you spend 200 bucks every week.. or you stuck with nothing.. same for gear.. mounts.. and all other stuff..
game is great, but cash shop makes me wana find real mmo.. i aint spending money or time needed to upgrade my gear, without cash shop ( you cant rly, as most items needed arent avaible )
some items are cheap, and you can get some zen by salary and all nifty stuff they got in game, but thats never gona be enough..
in all , all this game is.. is adversiting for diablo, and real mmos.. good game with ruined cash shop in it..
i dont mind someone looking fancy, or having angel pet, or penguin pet, ill stick with my oridary wolf boar or anything.. i dont mind if theirs pet does 10% more dmg, but when half of the game is blocked cuz of cash shop.. then its no go..
You bring up a good point and worded your subject perfectly "How bad is the cash shop". Well they are all bad really. And your next statement is something about whether they "jack" you or not. The purpose of the cash shop is to jack as much money from you as possible.
I'm dumfounded why anyone plays F2P games, the whole model is either play the game for free and be frustrated at the limitations or pay more then a P2P to experience everything. Not even mentioning how poorly they are designed in first place, just carbon copy clones of each other with a new one coming out every month.
I just dont get it........
BOI the game is good..I had to laugh when players are rushing to get high level..But when it came for Pvp...Those who were NOT high level but raised there Skill level were killing those high level players...My god i was only level 28 and i beat a level 43 in pvp..I had more power in skills then he/she did..It just goes to show just because you want to be urber high level it dont mean that you can kick ass..Not in this game anyways...You need the Skill level in order to kick ass..Oh sure it is not easy to lvl and get skill level at the same time..Reason; you need exps for skill level also along with the game cash...It is not easy...
There plenty to do, the game is still in closed beta and it still needs work...So cash shop items or not..It still a fun game...

You can make the charms with drops in the crafting system.
ive seen nothing in the cash shop save "fancy items" that cant be made or had in a nother way. granted 90% of the players will not be willing to put forth the time/ money / and yes exp to make these items. so by default the see it as cash shop only .
the game play is very clean . players and cash shop are balanced. i dont see where they could add in more to the cash shop the walls are already packed. so we should be safe with whats there now
We're rolling out ZEN to everyone in Battle of the Immortals today, so that everyone can test out the cash shop and give us feedback.
We're listening very closely to player feedback on our forums and through email surveys (we're sending one out soon), so please test out the cash shop and let us know what your thoughts are.

ok blew threw 200 bucks worth of free zen in testing this week . the near limitless zen was fun . and get this ....... THERES NO POWER LVL ITEM IN CS. its all stuff you want but dont need to play . if you wanna look cool ya you will need zen. if you want your pet to look cool or your mount then zen again. i used all my zen on pets and style none on toon and in the end i was #10 out of 10s of 1000's in highest power . this cash shop will not make you god . but will make you look godly.
biggest cash shop gimp you get credit points for spending zen . even if you buy the zen from others . now with those credits you can buy luck bags to get random coins. dimand/plat/gold/silver/copper with 200 bucks in zen i got 1 dimand coin 1 nothing in the mystery "coin" shop for dimand coins under 3 coins. these coins are not tradeable . a friend has 3 accounts did same as me all credit to coins he spent 850 bucks worth zen got 2 dimand coins . bag space even with cash shop is limited so unless these coins are made tradeable only persons spending 1000's of dollars at a time can use them
worst cash shop item war trumpets , these allow a player to shout over all servers and use a rapid flash tet that imduced seazure activity in myself. the rapid flash tet takes over not just the chat window but also the systems window and can not be blocked

The upgrading system in this game is heavy based on chance, and if you're cash shop happy then you might aswell book a ticket to Las Vegas because its essencially gambling. That aside, the items themselves aren't very expensive (upgrading a common mount costs $0.05 per gem, $0.1 for elite mount gems, etc.) so even with $10 you can get a lot.
And technically everything can be achieved in game, wether its an event, or a mob drop, or if you just want to use the ZEN exchange, give in-game coin to players market to get ZEN back. You can get everything with in-game coin assuming players sell their ZEN for coin (which most likely will happen as coin gets you upgrade skills for you classes)
