Hey, i've played on beta weekend in January and i loved it! People say that it's going to be a lot better when its released and if i love it now, i just wonder what it'll be like on release. Yeh it's mission based but it still can be a whole lot of fun, i'm just wondering how many missions they are and what do you do at the end when you've done them all lol One of the good things are the no subscription fee. For such a good game, this is a bargain.
But i can say that i'm going to buy this and you should too!
Yeah, I also found Guild Wars to be a great game. A for sure purchase on release day for any MMO lovers out there. Pretty much no lag, no ganking, and you can go on for 10 minutes and be a amused by either PvE or the great PVP system without waiting for a group hours on end.
I've been testing it for sometime now, and enjoyed every minute of it. Although, I wish there was some alternative things to do other than fighting. Perhaps some crafting, etc.. I already paid for my pre order in full, and look forward to the next 2 beta events. About damn time someone made a decent free to play MMOG.
i had beta of guild wars i don't like it because there are lots of bugs and graphics is low quality there......
well i think final ver will it will be better
WoW 4ever
Hey Ppl, Anyone whose beta'd GW can you comment on the quality of the ranged weapon system. I've got it ordered and trying to figure whether to start as Ranger... only will if the bow use is feasible. Have to say most RPGs are pretty poor in implementing usable archery. (best bow use I've tried was in Severance, tho' debatable if you'ld call that an RPG ).
What have you found?
"If I knew then what I know now... I'ld probably do the same stupid thing "
please open your eyes.. www.guildwars.com there are so many different things you can accomplish in that game.. just give this game a chance and you will be a happy person
probally a wow fanboy not doing his research or not playing longer than 5 minutes. but it is obvious how he has no information to back it up and no reason why he found it dissapointing
This game looks awsome!
Just pre ordered it and cant wait tell next beta weekend.
I played a beta weekend and enjoyed it. However I don't see any long term appeal for this game. It looks like (please correct me if I'm wrong) all that this game will be is the arena wars after a certain point which is completely pvp. While this will be heaven for many gamers, it would be hell for me. I'm not a fan of pvp, so once I've finished the quests I don't see much left in this game for me. Sure I could keep exploring the various zones looking for rare drops, but there are many other games out there with more to offer those of us who aren't hyped about pvp. I did try the arena 5 times and every time at least 1 person dropped from the group before the pvp started. This made it even more of a nightmare experience for me even though one of those groups still managed a victory. The economy in this game was even more inflated than most games. The reason for this is once you adventured to a town, you could freely warp to any other town you had been to. This allowed players who have been around a while to charge newer players over 500% markups for items that they could buy (in some cases) an unlimited supply of.
As for the positives, I found it very easy to find/make groups for adventuring and I had fun doing the quests. There were many helpful advanced players - some who would even escort newbies through the first couple zones to help them get a feel for the game. The gameplay was enjoyable but nothing that really stood out above other games. If you have a group of friends that like to pvp for free, this game will probably be your dream come true. If you prefer getting a group of friends together for pve, this game will probably only last a few weeks for you.
I see, Many of the users here at www.mmorpg.com likes the game as much as i do, I think this game is going to hit it hard. Am i right or Am i wrong? Well the only way to know this for sure is to make a formular about this game, check under this text.
I haven't actually played GW yet, but from the looks of it, every render I have seen from in-game has been incredible! The graphics look amazing.
I have read literally hundreds of reviews from this site, ebgames, guildwars, other sites, and magazines, and the game is very intriguing. It seems that whether you buy the expansions or not, there will be plenty to occupy yourself with. The guild system seems really neat too. Despite what WoW, SWG, EQ, and other popular mmog fanatics are saying about it, and how their games are so much better, I don't think they have really spent the time to get to know the game.
I haven't even played it, but I have researched enough on it to tell that some of the things they are posting are just crap. I did however purchase the preorder a couple days ago, and I'm looking forward to the beta event this weekend. I'm practically counting down the hours.. (lol.. not really.. but..)
Anyways, It looks real promising, and if you still have doubts, just look around. It's being talked about like, everywhere. I guess I'll post back after the beta event this weekend and spell out what it's actually like.
Yeah it nothing wrong with the GFX, its great, and somthing that dont make it worse is that the game will be free to play! Thats the best thing that happened to the MMO games.;) dont you think?
But if it turns out that the game will not be free to play, GW will offer i great game feeling to the player. Lots of quests and lots of wepons etc.
And I hope the full version will turn out to be ass good as the beta.;)
Take Care everyone.;)
I've only missed one beta event so far. The one in Feb. Don't plan to miss March or the release of the game.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
I hope not many of us will miss the release.;)
Lets make this game hit hard on the big games shall we..;)
no joke!! this game will totally rock.. after the release.. i have a feeling that a lot of people are going to realize what they are missing out on.
i wish i had a key to play the beta
All my endings are waiting to begin.
I only played during the World Preview event, but these are my honest opinions.
The game has done a well job.
I ran the game on a low-end computer, GeForce 4 MX, 256 ram, 1800 pentium 4, broadband.
No lag. I pvped, no lag. I went on quest, no lag. I just went out an hunted, no lag. That is an excellent quality I see in a game.
The pvp is good, I like the fact that level doesn't matter an extreme amount. If your a high level, but not smart, your going down.
The quest area where you can't get vulched, another good quality. I hate getting vulched.
I especially liked the quest. An interesting storyline. I for one love the storyline of a game, and think it matters a whole lot. The quest were challenging, yet I didn't want to give up if I failed. Cutscenes I do like, though GW was the first game I saw them in.
All togethor, I will buy the game, because... no monthly fee! I don't know how they do it, but that's my favorite part about the game.
This is arguably the best game ever made (or that i have played ) i have played daoc, wow and beta other mmos and this is the best......not to mention its the best looking and smoothest running game i have ever played besides console
I have to agree that this is the best game I have played...I play a lot and I mean A LOT of Diablo2 and this is a very good change from that.
I played only in the Roleplaying part of the Beta and can't wait till this next one. I am going to pre-order and get the bow...I think..LOL
Well, that is all, just adding my 2 cents...
p.s. for those who have not yet played this game, get it when it comes out...IT IS WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT!!! PEACE, LOVE, and SPAGHETTIOS
When you buy the preorder, not only do you get your own key, but you also get a key to give to a friend. They will, of course, not receive a special item, but they will still get to play!
At least I think everyone gets an additional key for a friend... unless my box was a fluke?
