MU Online (Please Read)

I have just installed the MU online and I have detected an intrusion into my computer from a SubSeven client (which I haven't heard about in forever) trying to access an Sub7 client in the mu.exe.  Please beware when you install this program, if you really want to play it, make sure you have a fairly good firewall.  Just wanted to let everyone know before the try to figure out why the CD-rom opens randomly, files missing, or your computer shuts down from time to time.

FYI - Sub7 is newb's tool of screwing with someone, but can have access to your files.  It allows people to show images or text on your screen to opening your cd rom.  Not too major, but in the hands of an expert it can be devestating.

Just want to let you guys know.

...Where did you download client from?
"Hacks" & "cheats" for online games are/contain trojan viruses. I really doubt (official) MU online would have a virus in there own .exe since they made/wrote it themselfes.

If you downloaded it from a p2p network I would be surprised if you didnt get a virus. Also some viruses infect other .exes than the "primary" one, cant remmember if sub7 is one of those.

is the mu.exe a sub7 client? if not it could just be a person trying testing your ip for a trojan

There is nothing wrong with the official client downloadable from the official site at www.muonline.com

If you downloaded a ''client'' from an illegal mu private server then there is a good possibility that it could be infected with any number of trojans or keyloggers designed to hack you or steal your game accounts but that''s what you have to expect if you try to play the warez equivelant of a mmorpg.

What Raines said might be true.I played MU Online in the past, and there was this very special "occasion" where the MU website contains trojans/keyloggers and most of the MU players were affected. I was a lucky one as most of my items were in my vault with a password, but not lucky for long. Soon after a few weeks later they manage to screw up my account again, and there goes all my stuffs. So imagine them getting into the MU servers to steal and change players account and stuffs, it no surprise that the client got affected too.
