You just don't give up beating the same stick over and over and over; even with valid responses FROM BIOWARE to reference..  It's like watching an autistic child bang their head against the wall until the knock themselves out...

Nope...I do not give up.  I call it like I see it and so far  I see nothing that impressive about this game.

Voice overs do not impress me.  Static story arcs in an MMORPG's do not impress me.

Explains why you're overly interested in this game.

Poorly executed game mechanics do not impress me(seriously - you're going to have little green figures pop up on screen to tell people where to run for cover?).

Oh no, letting players know what's usuable for cover, find a new arguement please.

Ugly character models and stiff animations do not impress me.

Animations have gotten better, character models are subjective.

Poor looking combat - that just reek of circa 1999 game play doesn't impress me(Jedi Academy's combat looks better and more fluid then this games combat).

Yes JA combat looks far superier, your cocaine fueled rants are not working for you.

    Must I go on.

    My eyes, they bleed.

So what exactly does impress you? EVE Online? Target>Click>Go Watch TV?

No what impresses me is a game that has the tools that allows me the freedom to create a character and a unique story for my own enjoyment because I have a vivid and active imagination and do not need to be force fed some predetermined story.

Well it looks like you are going to go wanting for a loooong time then Teala, because what you want as you described it sounds more single player than anything Bioware is doing with ST:ToR.

Nothing will impress you because you aren't interested in the game to begin with... you started the thread saying the movies sucked,  you bash George Lucas,  you talk about games being a sanbox, you irrationally lash out on any information that has been given by denying the fact that it even exists, and then you continue to attack anything that you can get your hands on.  Its obvious you were biased before this game even existed.

You want something that they aren't making, and you can't handle it.  I know exactly what you want.  Here is your sandbox,  you can go play in it all you want, and let those that are interested in the game, play it when it releases.   You don't have to like this game for others to like it...  its "uninteresting" features are a lot more fluid and interesting then a lot of what I've been seeing.  Even in the worst case scenario that this is just another single player bioware game,  I'd still be more apt to play and enjoy it over anything currently on the market.  Luckily I have an entire MMO to look forward to.

You don't like voice overs.  OK...matter of taste, can't really argue that.

If the path and outcome of a quest change based on your decisions, how is that static?

I guess you missed the latest clip...the little gumby looking marker for cover was not in the last little video.

Character models again a matter of taste, but I agree I don't particularly like them either, but they have improved since last year and most likely will continue to.

It's standard MMO combat, minus the auto attack, which most of you people should be happy about if you were being honest.  How are the MMOs with FPS twitch combat like Darkfall and Fallen Earth doing?  Personally, I don't want that style of combat in a MMO.

Everybody knows that action movies are only liked for 2 things, Sex and Violence. As long as the flashy lightsaber combat is decent, the movie will succeed. If not they release an uncut version with lots of sex. Thats how all action movies work.

Well, I will say this, you are persistant.

Unfortunately, I have a build/deploy to fix, so I have to bow out of the thread..

But I will leave with this.. Right now we are looking at a spring 2011 release last I heard.. That means that closed beta is probably a good, what, 6 months down the road, and the NDA lifting probably 3 months or so after that.

That is ALOT of time for BioWare to feed up information about the game, rather than just put it all out now to get stale over the course of the year.

Also, don't forget, E3 is only like 2 weeks away.  I would be shocked if there wasn't some new info at E3 for the community to digest.

Everybody knows that action movies are only liked for 2 things, Sex and Violence. As long as the flashy lightsaber combat is decent, the movie will succeed. If not they release an uncut version with lots of sex. Thats how all action movies work.

Ha...good call there hehe. I could totally do without sex in action movies...add more action. I go to the movies to see a visually entertaining event for the most part, as long as the story is even midly decent and the acting is not too terrible I can stand it if the visuals are awesome, because I am not going to pay $12 just for the acting, I can see that at home for 1/3 the price. And gods would Star Wars suck if they added sex to it lol. The only acting I didn't really care for in Ep. 1-3 was Hayden Christensen...I even liked the acting for Jar Jar Binks although I despised the character.  Yeah that last statement is going to be sooooo misunderstood hehe.

Poorly executed game mechanics do not impress me(seriously - you're going to have little green figures pop up on screen to tell people where to run for cover?).    Ugly character models and stiff animations do not impress me.   Poor looking combat - that just reek of circa 1999 game play doesn't impress me(Jedi Academy's combat looks better and more fluid then this games combat).  Must I go on.

So what exactly does impress you? EVE Online? Target>Click>Go Watch TV?

No what impresses me is a game that has the tools that allows me the freedom to create a character and a unique story for my own enjoyment because I have a vivid and active imagination and do not need to be force fed some pre-determined story.

Target > Click > Go watch TV, that is a godly ass story, someone should write a book based on that.

Yes...and pray tell what game do you play?

Im currently not playing anything because of the reason of Target > Click > Go Watch TV. But if I have to bring up examples, Darkfall, Age of Conan, fallen earth and even WoW. At least those games have some interesting aspect to playing them, unlike EVEs Target > Click > Watch TV. That is some boring ass combat right there.

Well at least you like WoW's combat.   The others....I truly feel sorry for you.   As for EvE.  If you think you can just click and go watch TV...then you have never played EvE.

I have played it, I never gotten far enough to nerd rage if someone destroys my new Inquisitor. The combat is boring as hell. Id rather get owned by some retard while AFKing then watch that.

World of Warcraft is the original creation of God. Real Life is in fact a WoW clone.

I am interested in the game.  I wouldn't be writing about it if I wasn't.   Are they making the kind of game I would like to play?  I dunno...all we know is that the game has voice overs and that it is heavily story driven, we know about races, planets and such, but anything substantial that tells us about how the game is actually an MMO - well - LOL!

What would make you think this game *would* be an MMO then?  Obviously not anything that the developers say can change your mind as they have said many times it was an MMO.  Perhaps some grouping?  They did show videos on grouping and PvP both in a story line and outside of one.  Maybe you want to wait until you see a full fledged test from a leaked video or beta?  Perhaps nothing will change your mind until you put your hands on the game?

If you want to take a "guilty until proven innocent" stance, I'm all for it,  but with everything that you've said regarding what you are looking for in this game,  this game will always be guilty of not living up to what you're looking for.  BioWare didn't say that this game would not be a sandbox,  on the contrary the developers did say they were utilizing both sandbox and themepark elements,  but I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to take their word for it.

Some people have had different experiences with BioWare then I have.    If you want to play a game where you can use your imagination however,  because you have such a great one,  I would say find yourself a pen and paper and start writing.  Not everyone can play in your imagination Teala,  and not everyone would want to.  I want you to find your game as much as anyone else, but if a games not for you,  I think it would be more prudent to move on instead of bashing it until it "changes".

    Good lord.

Every single day a new thread, rehashing the same thing the thread yesterday said almost.  Liking and disliking something is purely subjective.  It's entierly your opinion.  Some people loved the new three movies. Good for them.  Calling them stupid and bad people for it, makes you stupid and out of line.  Just because you don't like someones opinion, or what they like, does not mean they ride the short bus or anything like that.

Can anyone prove to me that Lucas has total direct control over this?  Is Bioware not making this?  Or did Lucas secretly take over this game?  If he did, since some of you most likely "know" he did, why can't he take over this Clone Wars MMO?  The Clone Wars MMO is much closer to something he had a direct hand in, is it not? Or are posts claiming here that he had his hands in all of those three movies wrong?

Did Lucas directly control the KotOR game like he did with those movies?  If you could prove to me that Lucas is sitting in on every meeting, vetoing this and allowing that, by all means. Go ahead.  And even if he was, Oh noes!  The game might as well be cancelled now right?!

How many MMOs has blizzard made before World of Warcraft?  How about Turbine? Are you saying that Game companies that have/had their first MMO out had one before it? That seems sort of paradoxal.  Obviously both of those companies had no idea how to make an mmo at the time.

I understand some people would enjoy a sandbox SW mmo.  Well, if you don't enjoy SWG, you won't be getting one soon. I know that's a hard fact to accept.  But you'll hafta move on.

I've enjoyed much of Ewan Mcgregors acting in movies.  Same for Llam Nelson.  Samuel L Jackson is a great actor.  What's his face that played anakin was terrible.

So what exactly is with peoples nerdraging over this game?  There are quite a few MMOs coming out soon, yet this is the only one, day after day, week after week with people finding anyway they can to trash it.  Even if what they said is proven wrong over and over, what they said has no evidence to prove true or false, or they bring up an entierly subjective post/idea, and treat it like its word coming from all the bigwigs are bioware/ea.   Did you not enjoy an EA game and thus feel the need to rage on this? If you already hate the game so much, which, by posts of some here, you do, and nothing Bioware or the game can do would ever change that, do you continue to spout nonsense about it?

I don't see people raging on GW2, which has tiny bits of information about it, that could be conjectured into being something bad, exactly like people are doing to TOR.  TERA? Secret World?  The new FF mmo?  I'm not going to play Secret world or the new FF, not my cup of tea.  But I won't be raging in their forums about lack of info, or that the lore in FF is reharshed for the 17th time or anything.

Wanting a game to be something entierly different isn't going to work.  The game is a themepark.  Not a sandbox.  Sandboxes have been proven to not do nearly as well as themeparks.  I just can't understand why, if you ALREADY hate the game because it's a themepark/EA/Bioware/Lucas thing, you feel the need to scream from the mountains how bad the game is going to be when played.  There is a difference between discussing things, at least like MMOdoubter does sometimes, and just ranting about nothing at all.

There are very few "sandboxes" Where you have total control.  They give you tools to do certain things, at certain times, at certain areas, to create certain things.  The most sandboxy game I know of, is maybe Second Life.  I also enjoy reading and movies.  Predefined storys that I watch and read.  Themeparks allow no RP at all either, in case anyone was wondering.

Seriously Mike B you're the worst person to even have forums if you can't stop the trolls from trolling. We obivously know who comes to these forums to be annoying because obivously games they are interested in would probably fail do SW:ToR. Too many idiots in these forums now days and not enough MoDs to do anything about them.

Some posters that troll these threads have blogs on this site that are listed on the front page.  I doubt we would see a mod touch anything posted by them unless it's really really REALLY bad.

It's not perfect but they do a great job on this site. If they didn't, I sure as hell wouldn't spend so much time here.
