Who would purchase a game based entirely on watching a teaser video?
How many people preordered MO while the NDA was still up??? What else would they base their purchase on? Other than to promote the game, why else would SV make it? Not sure why you take issue with facts over conjecture.
6 Days and 9 hours from release does the game look like that? NO
Will the game look like that at some point? Maybe
Not sure what you are taking issue with... Im sorry MO doesnt look like the video!!!
It's obvious when you watch teasers the game won't actually look like that, I mean look at those T.v. adverts for console games (the ones with the small writing saying not game footage)
No logical person will assume the game looked like that in early beta, the only reason that old teaser was brought up again was to discuss if they had these areas of land ready to use someone - I realise the game didn't look like this.

Unfortunately MOs videos dont say that, the featured one says nothing and the other below:

And we both know the post you took that quote from was refering to the Townlife video WHICH IS INGAME FOOTAGE.
Once again to avoid any confussion. Here is your statement regarding that specific video. It may have been done using ingame tools, but it clearly isnt the real game or real game footage.

It looks better because of high res being turned on there, the only other new things we see are a couple more NPCs added with emotes and the patrolling guards. There's no reason why this couldn't be reality in a couple of months.

It "may" look like that at some point, but the fact is it doesnt now and thats my point. .
Thanks
good things take time.
Thats for sure!!! Still waiting for it to look like the April 2008 video.
Please stop trolling. We get that you have a serious problem with SV and their game, but you can't possibly believe that these things you're saying are constructive, fair, or without ill intent.
i got a warning for telling him to stop saying negative commments all time >.>
but on the side note, eve online has teeser trailers and mortal online done the same, yet no one is crying at eve online.
where is your proof that what we see with that trailer is not ingame.
from what i know, the server is currently in debug mode, being that the graphics are low medium, so we get high res textures soon for example like the the alpha and combat betas.
from what we see in that trailer, we see, tindrem,rhiano/bullhorse someone said it was called and the armour is already in the game, the guards will be ingame, seen from the latest trailer and also the dragon will be ingame, seeing from the open beta 2 video, and i think the torches are ingame are they not.
the game is not released yet, there are 5 planned lands in nave, with 13 schools of magic, with 2 already being ingame, the patrolling guards and advanced AI will be bought in after release.
so the trailer does not lie, as its only a teeser, and also the trailer is 2 years old, and games change alot and also the game is releasing soon, so we see tindrem.
if you want to know whats being developed take a look at this, it was just updated yestaday.
where is your proof that what we see with that trailer is not ingame.
The original trailer that doesn't look anything like ingame atm is the proof. And I don't quite care about future promises, I judge the game by it's current state.

Probably because EvE is actually a working game with plenty of content.

The game is about to be release in 6 days, and we won't see those 5 other lands for a very long time. They will have their hands full with fine tuning the current content for a while.
I don't know what world you are living in, but in reality almost every trailer is really far from the real product, as in MOs case too.
Honestly ange10, why do you just HAVE to hammer down your fan believes in everyones head? People here do not have as much blind trust in SV as you do, why can't you just accept it and move on, like any mature person would? You can't make everyone like same stuff as you do..

So fans of the game don't belong in the Mortal Online forum? Only the people that hate the game or the company belong here?
I just think that they should be able to release some version of their artificial intelligence sooner rather than later. After all, creating simple interactionism between two in-game characters, be they player or computer driven, hardly is rocket science and you can find coding tips and possible implementations with simple googling. Also, there are countless books and articles from AI and themes related to its more advanced forms.
A living breathing world does take more than just an occassional player running by; if they have any intention to create an illusion of an actual game world they need to grant a breath of life to their coded assets. I do think that this is their intention and I do think that they can provide a rough version of such in a relatively quick pace. However, I am not fully convinced that their promises of advanced forms of AI is about to or will ever be brought to daylight.
After all, I think that Computer Games Coding for Dummies will (should atleast!) tell you that creating an illusion of intellect is much better a solution than actually trying to create one. I recall tinkering with some sophisticated internal communication system for my orcs back when I was coding for a MUD, and was duly reminded that for a player it does not really matter all that much whether those calls actually lead to some action or whether the action calls for the dummy communication. Analogically, creating a pattern of actions that will be called in a random sequence gives you as much an illusion of intellect as does some highly sophisticated intellect system that governs those actions if the sequences will, grosso modo, be the same.
Hence, they should just release patrolling guards that use waypoints and basic aggro mechanics. If they need to have them look somewhat fancier they can add some randomness on their route and they can add a small chance for them to pause and check what's going on at the markets. None of this really requires any AI per se, it is a simple route that you hard code for your guards.
So fans of the game don't belong in the Mortal Online forum? Only the people that hate the game or the company belong here?
Way to miss the point of the post, which wasn't that someone doesn't belong here, but that I don't understand why fans gotta try their best in every more or less negative thread convincing everyone it is the best game ever. Same goes for haters too, tbh.
Just let people think what they want, and keep the discussions to actually talking about features, and not bashing/praising the game..

this is the mortal online mmorpg.com forums, so all types of people will be in it, but there are just some people posting negative things about the game which are not as bad as they seem and totally bash the game and of course people who pay for the game and like it will defend it, jesus the game is not hitler, the developers are just a niche company trying to make a great game with unique features and people bash it and i will defend it when people just bash and do not show 2 sides to the paper but only 1 side, with biased comments, its like not formal but with filled with all this crap that targets the developers for example mortal online is so crap and its got inexperinced developers, if thats so then please give your reasons, and do not say the game is crap when some others actully like the game.

Nobody moans about Eve Online because their trailers are accurate, and CCP have a proven track record in delivering quality content, usually on time. Starvault so far has delivered nothing but buggy content, usually after a few months delay. You can understand why people are sceptical when SV release a video that looks too good to be true, because it usually is.
Is your goal to face a legendary monster? Well, that is usually suicide – if you can find one. But if your guild would actually manage to kill one, it’s dead. Gone. Rare monsters and quests do not resurrect or come again, whether it’s an ancient beast, a crumbling temple, an island rising out of the sea or a great ritual that fails or succeeds.
You might get away with an item never seen before, or the unique scar that tells about the experience. There are not many of these opportunities but they are usually important enough to affect the whole world and its history. All you have to do is be at the right place at the right time.
What, you mean the one minotaur that was, for a while, bugged and stuck in the ceiling? I have no idea what they mean by crumbling temples or islands rising out of the sea, or great rituals. Only thing that comes close to my mind is a few empty buildings dotted around with nothing in them. Amazing, it reminds me of the bit in Lord of the Rings where they travel through the Mines of Moria and it turns out it's completely empty and they just come out the other side and continue on their journey.
Do you want to walk the dangerous path of thieves and assassins? Or would you choose the path of the honorable, using law and strength to prevent the murderers from ruling the world? [...]
Choose to believe in one of the Gods and watch its power grow. Fight heretics and burn their temples to rob their Gods of power. Or start a new cult: with enough believers your God might be powerful enough to enter the Pantheon.
[...]Venture into ancient caves and temples to find the buried history of the world, including its forgotten knowledge, spells and items[...]
Again, what law? What Gods? What forgotten knowledge and items? If by law you mean one player smacks someone over the head, then another player smacks HIM over the head in revenge then... ok... yay I guess. Is religion even in the game? Nope. As I mentioned above, the ancient caves and temples are all empty, so no "forgotten knowledge" to discover.
This is the problem that a lot of people on this forum have with Starvault. They promise the world and instead deliver a handful of buggy features. A lot of the other features on their list are only "technically" in the game as far as I'm concerned, such as their "next-generation graphics" and "living the life of a thief". If you count running around naked, pinching some gold and maybe a bit of ore off AFKers in town as living the dream, then more power to you.
This is why, when SV release a video showing NPCs interacting with one another, guards patrolling etc, a lot of us are going to be extremely sceptical. They've done such a poor job of delivering on their previous ideas that we just can't see SV making an exception for this.
The videos coll n all, but i think people are kidding themselves if they expect a finished article on release, or even anything remotely close. This one looks doomed to fail.

I've played EVE for years now. Please try posting your sentence above on their forums.
CCP has botched more expansions than I care to count. No hate on them, EVE is a great game, but come on. Dominion broke fleet battles, and that problem persists today. And remember the expansion that deleted peoples boot.ini file? If CCP can be forgiven for such fiascos when they are a veteran game dev company, why must SV be held to such high standards?
While we're on the subject, CCP showed clips of atmospheric flight 5 years ago at fanfest, and still no word on if/when that'll be implemented.
Again, I'm not hating on CCP, and I know I'm focusing on a small part of your post, but my point is valid.
