But there is talent in POP, Hip-Hop, & Rap....

Being able to dance has nothing to do with the " beat' being played. I can rap, I can play Hiphop.. But no matter how hard I tried, I still couldn;t do this:

Well the "beat" always depends on who and what your listening to. Like I have did my rap with a local life band. Well in order to do something you can't do it takes practice. Like me I can actually play a guitar. So your telling me that you can rap and play hip hop devil? Like me, I can rap, but I can't freestyle. I can only do 7 bars before choking on what to think about next. I think it is talent. Now, with boybands it highly varies. A lot of them are not great at all. I can only think of one that actually escaped the groups to have talent. Such as Justin Timberlake or maybe Pleasure P (but I like Pretty Ricky (hell I am Pretty Riki).
It's just a debatable comment. I didn't like boybands because yeah as that video said. Simple dances, looks and the target of love with young girls. LOL It works though. It's so sad but it works.

I really do enjoy hip hop music, or should I say I really enjoy the hip hop beat. The one thing that I hate about rap is when they open their mouths with their loads upon loads of stupid bull shit that seems to spew forth from them like they are some sort of shit manufacting factory.
If anything the best thing the black community within the US could ever do is ban rappers from opening their mouths about thier fictional past lives that are embelished upon to the point of stupidity. They give the image of blacks as being stupid internationally. This is embarassing for those who do wish to make a real tangible, logical and inspirational impact on society. Contrast that to those who seem not capable of being able to purchase clothing that is their size and body type, unable to stylize and colour coorddinate clothing, and incapable of grasping the tipping point at which time one realizes the difference between being a mature adult rather than that of a very old 12 year old.
I would think it would be very embarassing for a 20, 30 and 40 something rapper to conduct themselves on the same level as one of say that Justin Beider what ever his name is, the little teenage blonde boy guy.
Anyhow, the beat is nice. Bring it on down now.

That is pretty much how it is.
But lets be honest there isn't any good alternative music either.
You either have the indie crowds that desperately want to copy Joy Division of some other 80s alt band but miss the point and fail miserably. Or you have the angsty psuedo goth/punk kids, aka emos, running around screaming and going on about their black soul to an upbeat pop song. Then you have the metal kids, all they care about is image and how technically difficult it is to play something, nevermind that they have no artistic merit and sound like they oink in the microphone.
That is why I live in the past, since there is nothing good in the present. Of course it is a past I never lived in but you have to get your music from somewhere.

True hip-hop is some of the harder music to make. Take a listen to Black Thought from The Roots. One of the most prolific hip-hop artists of all time. His lyrics are super hard to replicate, and his vocabulary is phenomenal...
Most rap is garbage, just like most rock and metal are too. Pop music is straight up garbage...
But true hip-hop is becoming a lost art, and is a wonderful form of music.
Hip Hop exists because it's the *easiest* kind of music to make. It started in the burbs with a bunch of kids who couldn't afford instruments. Even looking at it today, there are tons of people who make beats or are DJs, so the budding rapper doesn't even have to handle his own music anymore. All he's got to do is listen to it and scribble down crap. Granted the talent involved in taht is something that varies, and I for one love hip hop (some of it), but the skill compared to a guitarist or actual singer is nothing. You just need a sense of presence in front of others and rhythm.
This is, of course, if your only talent is rapping itself. Those with their hands on the music part can actually call themselves musicians. Otherwise, might might as well label yourself "spoken word artist".
~As for Pop music, I never understood the deal behind it. It's huge in Asian countries where it still takes the form of standardized song/dance numbers and idolizing the artists (who are predominantly female), over here in the states it's been fused with R&B (which imo is far more stomachable), but for a long time was ran by boybands. Just in that last few years it's gone back to female singers, and they don't even have to dance - and in that Ke$ha broad's case, it's best she stopped bothering. I seen that SNL.
Now... if only they could get a serious Bollywood movie out that dropped the muscial aspects. That's I'd like to see.
