Hi, im in the same situation like some of you. Imposible to log in today when it was supposed to be. Im btw spanish so its eu who i have been granted the beta.
First of all i snet a ticket and they asnwer me but didnt resolved my this problem, so i just have sent another some minutes or hour ago, waiting if this time i have luck or i will be out of all test.
Same with someone who is not me. His email said 9th.
Good to know he is not the only one, that probably means its a problem at SE and that they'll fix it soon.
I did read somewhere else that a guy who should have been able to acces it at the 2nd of June still wasn't able to log in AND that there were alot of posts of people who had the same problem in March..
Im european and still unable to connect to the Beta Site. I hope its not only me the one who cannot enter. or i have the worse luck of all the beta testers xD.
Today more people got accepted than the days before it combined, so it's unlikely that everyone gets access simultaneously.
You should be able to log in today either way, just wait it out!
Fun fact: Currently there are 24 000 testers across all 3 regions, which is little less than half of the testers SE wants to add for this phase. The beta is getting closer and closer.

You should be able to log in today either way, just wait it out!

ur still defending them ? they knew about this beta, for last 3 months.. there are already bunch of beta testers , which been testing.. so whole giving access.. which should be fast and automated, isnt first time ..
they announced to us a week ago, and when time comes they cant even do it on time? dont you miss when beta would start on xx.xx and you could login on 00.01 i surely do.. cuz i was able in most of mmos.. and se is like 5 times bigger than all of other mmo companies.. yet they cant do a damn thing right? its not about when we will get access.. its about how terrible whole beta organization is..
sending out emails that we were accepted which vaguely explains that "official "beta tester site opens on 9 .. like i know what is official.. maybe there is one none official.. and why would they send us in advance if we cant do anything at all..
then there comes 9th.. which we been waiting.. one would think i will be able to login.. np i cant login at 00.01.. cant login at 04.00 .. ill just go sleep.. ok 13.00 still cant logic.. 16.30 still cant login ..
Login error doesnt make much sense nor does it explain anything at all, tell me one beta test, where ppl were as confused as this one.. everytime i would get accepted.. i would get similar email.. : login, download client.. start playing, or wait till 0x.0x when beta opens.. was that simple and easy, i never saw multiple posts in multiple forums, speaking about being accepted into beta.. cuz frankly you dont know.. as you cant do anything with it..
sure we will probably all will be playing beta now and then.. but whole setup was/is terrible
well , as i got accepted and i cant login either.. and today i got email , telling me beta testing dates.. i wont post them here probably thats under nda.. not that i rly care. it doesnt show anything, but it starts tomorrow.. while website supposed to open on 9.. and considering that beta testers website been open for ages now, since there are other testers who been testing before we got invited..
and considering that other ppl had date as 7.. and some as 9.. this all shaping to be huge fail.. they could atleast let us login.. download client.. and let us see the actuall testing dates..

Work around slowest download speen in history, and most annoying game launcher + retarded forced music in gaming history.. and since im that awesome my upload is steaming.. its too bad noone else is giving upload to me.. i want
***POSSIBLE FIX FOR EVERYONE HAVING TROUBLE WITH SLOW SPEEDS***
Go to your "My Documents" then "My Games" Then "FINAL FANTASY XIV Alpha Version". From there go into "downloads" "ffxiv-alpha" "b28ad053" then finally "metainfo".
So the address should look something like this:
DocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Alpha Versiondownloadsffxiv-alpha28ad053metainfo
In the metainfo folder which you should be in there's the torrent file that the FFXIV torrent thing uses. Use another torrent program like uTorrent (google is your friend) and open + download it via that.
Set the destination folder in "Documents/My Games" as the folder it downloads is "Square Enix". It will just kind of slide the new files into your existing one. Once done... Run the offical FFXIV loader.
Much, MUCH faster speeds and it occasionally hits my max speed.
If you're still getting slow speeds then you'll need to port forward that torrent program... For uTorrent you can get help with that here:
I too have been wrestling with the insanely slow speeds. So I followed each of your step, and now I have the torrent inside my uTorrent pointing the download location to Documents/MyGames/, but problems. The torrent is not operating at all.

They haven't added anyone to the site yet (US at least), sometime today they will, during the morning as they get to work probably.

work hours are almost over in eu.. ( they are for half eu, and will be in hour or two or another half )

edit: Interesting stat is that the file has been downloaded 10832 times, if that is any indication of the size of the beta.
I followed the guide to download in utorrent, opened the port, and it downloaded FAST overnight.
It's 100%, but it says it's only 2.48gb, is this correct? I copied+pasted it to

-> Now I start over the client, and nothing happens! It starts downloading again as if it's from scratch!
