Zero Online - ..why do I keep re-installing this?

Every so often you'll run across one of those games that sucks you in, making you stay up until the wee hours of the morning as you quest and grind,  and grind some more.  Then more grinding.  Killing the same 200-300 monsters over and over  (quite literally for this game) until you finally see it for the awful, life-sucking troll it really is.   You quit, vowing to never, ever step foot into this horrible, pointless game ever again.

...for about a month.

Then it calls and reaches out for you,  and you begin to remember all the great things you loved about it before, thinking "Hey.. maby I just needed a break or something.."   ..and the madness begins all over again.

This is the very definition of that kind of game.

Maby its my love of mechs,  or sci-fi fantasy.  Or maby i'm just a sadist.

The game 'does' look nice.  The battles are epic, even when flying solo, charging your mech into a mosh pit of somewhat-certain death,  though knowing that you'll be victorious as you stand over the smoldering wreckage of the enemies below you.   The quests are pretty decent.. if a bit short,  with a bit of awkwardly translated 'engrish' that attempts to give you a semblance of a story, if you choose to pay attention to it.   PvP is there, and decently done,  though often turning into more of a clusterf*uck/clickfest as you try to sort out your enemies from your squadmates.

The games one and only falling grace?     ....the grind.   And yes, i'm aware of its cliche' overusage,  usually made as an excuse to get out of working your own way to the top,  but here...  may god have mercy on your soul as you clear out your first 300+ enemies in a row,  at or ABOVE your own level,  only to see your xp bar move a tiny fraction of an inch, no quests to be seen for 3-4 more long, agonizing levels away.

And you'll want to keep going.   Oh yes you will.

If you're even morbidly curious..  then sure.  Give it a try.

If you dare.

Just an FYI, the community here tends not to bother with obvious game advertisements. Considering your expressed love for this game,  your only post and today as your  sign up date you will be ignored :-)

That was an advertisement?     xD    I'm sure hundreds of new players are flocking to the servers as we speak.

    Thank you for your interest!

i fully agree with the advertisment vibe that went along with your post, sir.  Although, i do agree about the game. The grind is beyond ridiculous. i mean... WAY beyond. No exaggeration about the 300-400 dead mobs that provide only a c-hair of xp. But there is just something about this game... i have downloaded it probably about 5 different times now and it's safe to say that the reasoning is due to the monotonous battles eventually landing you a super-sweet mech. And it's real simple. Pop on some headphones, put on some metal and you're good to go. Not for everyone, though.
