GOD! So many crappy Asian MMO's!

Thats right! We are not forced to play them, so why complain?

JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE MMORPG.COM ''Game List''
Its totally filled with mmorpg crap,,
WARNING! OFCOURSE this is not mmorpg.com's fault, AND i got absolutley NOTHING against asians (i have a mixed heritage myself)
ITS JUST that there seems to be a new mmo pooped outta asian closet every minute, and one is shizztier than the next...
all so clone like, all so ''soulless''..
i tried several of them there past weeks, but nope! WITH A FEW RARE EXCEPTIONS, they are about all the same.
SURE OUR WESTERN MMO'S are also all like clones, and they are all about US paying money to the companies that develop those games,
But for gods sake! these craptastic asian mmo's feel like they are even more after our money, almost like they are purely made for making cash BUT NOTHING ELSE (IN CONTRAST TO OTHER MMO'S like Warhammer Online, EVE, WOW, Anarchy Online, Everquest etc... which seem to be primarely made for money, **BUT ALSO** their creators CARED about those games and enjoyed creating them.
PS! There are definetly exceptions to what i stated above, such as:
Final Fantasy Online is a Japanese game, but like it or not i think its a very high quality game.... Aion is another high quality Asian mmo, in my opinion.
Also Star Trek Online, Which is a Western MMO's (to which i admit to be a fanboi of) seem to like their c-store more than they like making a complete game for their subscribers. After NGE SWG perpahs is another example of western mmo failure.. (although i personally kinda ejoyed it for a while)
ALAS, sticks and stones may break my bones, and exceptions may exist for sure, but from my humble point of view, the general consensus is that most of those games being released nowadays (everyweek) arent worth playing even if THEY PAID me to play em... and soon we will have more and more of em, JOLLY:D

Well try going to China sometime, the number of knock off copied and or bootleg merchandise is staggering. Software is one of the easiest things to copy and distribute. Its no small wonder there is a copy of a copy of a copy of an MMO coming out of the east every other week. No ones heart is in any of these products its just an attempt at a money grab.
EDIT: Bigger boobs, longer swords and bigger spell effects is the only thing being added to these games.
Hmmmm....and I thought I was the only one who noticed this......I just don't play the game if its mascot is a woman with a 20 foot sword she could never lift, with high-heels in her armor.....just stupid stupid stupid

Just dont play these mmo? some people like me prefer asian mmo, or you could create your own mmo, good luck.
We know some people like them, we are just amazed at how many there are and how frequently they appear.....also its near impossible to make a real decent mmo and get steady subscribers unless you already have tons of cash and a fan-base

there are alot more just because more people play these mmo than our western mmo, no?
As like their companies its Quantity not quality, seems our Western Devs are in hot pursuite of this Practice.
That makes sense, there are alot more people in China than Canada (where I live).....or in other words there are alot more people in the Asia than North America....I think (right?)

Honestly, there are very few MMOs (including "American"/"European") that doesn't describe. Or games, in general, really.

Agree with the OP, except the Aion part. To me its just a pretty version of the same old junk.
FFXI is the only true MMORPG I've seen come out of the east. I wish the rest of that part of the world would copy FFXI instead.
Ya but at least the asians are actually making games.
I think the reason is no matter how crappy asian MMO are, they have a large enough asian market that they can actually make a profit out of it.
I go to the asian MMO forums, and they get a few MMO's out every month.
It's much more disappointing come to this board and have them telling me I have to wait a few month for the next big thing.
You know, we're going to have to put on gloves to pick your argument out of this.
It seems like you are saying Asian MMORPGs (stop calling them MMOs and stop using an apostrophe, learn some basic grammar) not only dominate the market but are largely far too similar to each other and becoming poorer and poorer in quality. You make another point at the bottom, saying that most of the games coming out are really not worth playing. Now, you don't differentiate between Asian and Western MMORPGs, even though you bring Western MMORPGs into your argument for some reason, so we're left to err on the side of caution and say you're making another point here and not merely expanding your original point, viz. you mean both Asian and Western MMORPGs aren't worth playing.
If I'm following you correctly I can honestly say I empathise to some degree, however you may want to also comment on the largely bad communities or pesudo-communitites that these games have. (Communities are cohesive units, no matter how small, and it seems that there is very little beyond simply playing the same game that would make a over-arching game community and, therefore, no real reason to call it a community.) Developers seem to be trying to snag the largest amount of players that they can find and, let's face it, most people genuinely aren't even that nice let alone marginally ethical so you're not exactly going to get the cream of the crop playing these games. When aiming at the greatest amount of people you're also going to get the greatest amount of players fitting the aforementioned general type. I think this is lurking somewhere within your argument too, but you'll have to let me know if that's the case.

Well, you're one of the few and can join the ranks with the thousands of girl gamers who feel the same.
Honestly, though, there are tons of guys that DO play games because of the girls with barely any clothes, nice proportions, huge...weapons, and in high heels. It's just sad that not only are they in the game, but they are used to market the game.
I was at E3 and watching two guys demo FFXIV. While in the character creation the guy playing chose a small, cute, anime caster and his friend got upset because he didn't choose the big boobed female in "lace underwear"...

As far as "Asian MMOs" go... there are a lot of "click to run" games coming out... it was frustrating demoing those.
Tera seems the most promising at this point. It is essentially like Dragon's Nest, only a little more advanced. I await seeing what content they will have. At least it is one step away from the WoW clone, however (which Rifts will be).

Those games are only worth a week of playtime and then makes you want to transfer to another crappy game. It is only there to keep your mind off the game you have been waiting to come out.
And it is up to you if you want to spend a little bit of cash which is already good enough for them to keep the server running.
i hope all the people here are playing some MMo's
to me its all about the game play and less about the looks.. it could be a midget that flicks toe nails at 16 bit graphics but if its fun I'll play it
