im just about to preorder Apb and then it kinda hit me.. do i get physical box?
im a material oriented guy, so i like having the physical game box and not a digital copy.
so, does the preorder from the official site include a box or just download? if not where can i preorder the real box? (if im still able to download the game online would be great). i dont care for bonus items. thank you

I'm pretty sure there no box from the main site as I didnt pay any shipping fee. Most small companies been starting with no physical box lately. It usually just a box and no instructions. You want me to print you out some pictures and glue them to a box for ya? =P

If you're really dead set on supporting this crap, the boxed version will be available on the release date. It's already at stores (shipped in and is in the street date pile with Naughty Bear etc) and should be available day of. If you want to get into the head-start going on now though, your only option is to pre-order a digital copy via steam or somesuch.

So you want companies to spend more money on a physical product just do you can have an instruction booklet to read on the shitter? Digital DL is the way to go, it takes millions of $$ in revenue to create a AAA MMO type title now a days, ill take the Digi DL over a box any day because that means the publisher in this case EA can give the developer RTW in this case MORE money to spend on developing the title.
just preordered from the official website. in my mail was a tracking number so my guess is that im getting a box. and what do you mean support this crap?
yes, for some reason i do not feel like i owe the item until i stand with it in my hands. this is just what i prefer.
I pre-ordered so 9am tomorrow (monday) i'll be in there raising hell.. direct2drive for me, didnt bother with steam, went off of it after a few issues were highlighted by other 'users' on here. i would add though, that for single player games, i wouldnt have used an 'online' retailler.. all your really doing with the online one is buying a 'key' the software is downloaded from the APB website anyway.... its a bit counterstrike meets GTA.. but.. after trying it in KTTC.. its a hugely fun one!
so if I pre-order now I can play? for 10 hours? I'm a bit confused, or is the pre-start over?

as long as u got the digital copy ur key that was email to you should get u in. As for the hard copy you get 0 perks...no pre order cars etc
You are not getting a box with the digital download preorder. The box will be available from retail stores only. Also, the bonus preorder items are only available when you preorder the digital download. You don't get them with the retail box.
As a previous poster said, there is no reason to have a physical box nowadays. They are a waste of materials, resources, and money. This isn't 1992. People need to get out of this "I need a box" nonsense mindset.
